LOCATION: Just back from 4 nights during Ironman Louisville. The race is based on the riverfront so the location of the Residence Inn was fine for us. As others have written, it is not the best if you plan on activities downtown such as 4th Street or the museums. Though it was an easy walk, there were a lot of empty storefronts and questionable areas nearby.

ROOM: We stayed in a studio suite and it was fine for two people. The set up was typical for a Residence Inn with a full kitchen and enough space - I would say plenty considering it was a downtown hotel, but not as much as typical suburban ones. The room wasn't overly clean and there wasn't a safe in the room. Other than that it was fine.

PARKING: It was $16 a day and easy access seemed typical for a downtown hotel.

INTERNET: Sucked - seriously, I've had better in third world countries. I understand they want to make money by selling a faster version of wifi but in this day and age good internet is expected.

STAFF: Always friendly - I think her name was Jaz? when we checked in and was very helpful with a smile - something missing in a lot of service positions these days.

BREAKFAST: Typical free hotel breakfast with mini waffles, eggs, meat, cereal, breads, coffee and juice, and more. The set up was good and clean with plenty of seats every time I went down.

SUMMARY: Not great, not bad. I could stay here again.

Our 2 bedroom suite in this residence Inn was large enough, but the hotel itself is really showing it's age. The refrigerator's icemaker when turned on poured water all over the floor. and there are no ice makers.

Took the family for a fun visit up the road to look at some baseball building and interactive museum viewing. We were very fortunate to book a suite that had two rooms a kitchen and two baths. One of the baths with a roll in shower. A very important point for a person with mobility issues.
We had 4 adults and a 6 year old with us. The adults occupied the 2 bedrooms and the child enjoyed the pullout sofa. He ( for some reason) thinks pullout beds are the neatest invention ever!
We cooked dinner in the room one night so we know the kitchen had all the pots, pans and other impliments needed to cook with. There is a range and microwave. No oven.
The motel also serves breakfast, a huge break for those with several people to feed. There is a wide variety of food available to suit most peoples breakfast palates.
We took an afternoon break from museum hopping to check out the pool. It is the usual size for a hotel. It ranges from 3 feet to 4 foot deep. It was at a nice temperature on a 75 degree outside temperature (about 10 degrees cooler than usual for early September in Kentucky). The pool is heated and indoors. There is a hot tub as well.
All the staff was very helpful. We asked for extra towels the first night. They were delivered very promptly. The second night we asked for an extra pillow and it too was delivered with extreme haste.
We enjoyed our stay here and would stay again. We also will recommend this hotel to others!

Terrible location and just in sad shape. The rooms were dirty and beat up. Marks on walls and furniture. Dirty counters and sink.
The hotel needs major renovations. This is probably the worst residence inn we have stayed in and we stay in a lot when we travel.
It was expensive too.

Bad neighborhood. Not near downtown. No airport shuttle. Sofa stained. Very unhappy. View from window is graffiti. Tough for business traveler. I almost checked out. Would not recommend, especially for women travelers.
