Awesome baguette, stopped here twice, and I might stop by on the way to our next stop. Coffee okay,
Menu has a lot of very good items.
Very busy at times, but worth the wait. Waiters are
very nice.

Their artisanal breads, especially the baguettes, are are better than any you will get this side of the Atlantic. They have there breads in some other, off-site locations, which I only mention because, going in there (Crescent Hill location) to buy a simple loaf is a nightmare, most of the time... it is packed with "sandwich" customers and others - great for them - but waiting in line for a half hour to buy a couple of loaves of bread, is trying....

I LOVE that they are here Love their products - just wish they would develop a line for people not wanting a breakfast/lunch/brunch/coffee - just something quicker.... still, unless I make it - all my bought bread is from here... There is no comparison in the city.

Awesome addition to Louisville's eat scene.

The food was delicious--definitely ask about the special of the day. The day we went was bourbon cream french toast with blood orange. So tasty! The service was pretty slow but staff was very friendly. Seating is limited so expect a wait especially on the weekends.

European bakeries are one of my favorite places to eat at, but since airfare costs a fortune it's hard to enjoy them too often. It's even harder to find a suitable replacement for them in America. A lot of bakeries that boast European quality just don't have the same the talent it takes to make a proper pastry. Blue Dog is one of the few. The smells that hit you when you first walk make you swoon and the food tastes amazing. It's really hard to decide what the best thing that there we got was. We bought a apple cinnamon scone, a cherry pear tart, and a Kouign Amann which is pastry dough folded with butter and sugar. We also ordered the Fried Free-Range Egg, Bacon, &a Avocado Sandwich with White Cheddar, Greens, & Mayo and Poached Free-Range Egg & Bacon with Arugula. The sandwich was really good and you could tell that everything was homemade and made to order. Even the beans that came with the sandwich were delicious. The pizza tasted unreal and the crust was perfectly crispy and chewy. If you don't like strong tasting cheese I would recommend that you leave it off or ask to have it switched for mozzarella. It was fun to sit at the window seat and watch the constant stream of people coming in the buy pastries and bread. I highly recommend coming in at 10 a.m. or earlier if you want bread or a pastry. It's so worth it to come early though. The service was prompt and we were seated as soon as we arrived. Our drinks were constantly being refilled and are food came out after a reasonable break. If you want super fast service you should go to McDonald's, because there is a bit of wait for food as everything is made fresh. So overall a well deserved 5 star baker and cafe.

Crowded but worth the wait. Super friendly staff. Excellent Bread and fantastic cookies.
A great spot for lunch, but also good to get food to go at the counter. Nice choices for vegetarians, there are healthy selections, which can be rare in Kentucky.
