“A Pleasure and Central!”

The staff of this hotel made the stay worth it all. From check-in, to recognizing Marriott Elite status (which gave me complimentary wifi...a big savings) to the excellent room service—it was all a pleasure. Located very central to downtown, 1/2 block to the Convention Center, 2 blocks to the Yum! Center, and located to many other hotels it was well suited for all types of visitors. Fast food, pizza delivery, sandwich stores, and fine dining are all within a small circle and all within walking.

Sadly, the nearby Marriott properties provide complimentary shuttle from SDF airport, but for the downtown Marriott (1 block from the other 3 Marriott locations), no shuttle was provided and the independent airport shuttle was a long wait and $25.00. It would seem that Marriott could solidify its service to the Fairfield, Springhill Suites, Courtyard, and Marriott.

But the rooms were impeccable, the floor staff was friendly and always treated me by name.

Definitely a place to return.

Room Tip: Get a north side room to avoid the bright sun in the morning.

I travel to Louisville often for business and this is my favorite hotel. I recently traveled with my sisters-in-law for a broadway show and asked for adjourning rooms. The NCAA tournament was also going on at the same time and they were able to accomodate us despite being completely booked. I also received breakfast vouchers because the concierge lounge was not opened on the weekend. Service is great and I would highly recommend this hotel.

Service was excellent. The staff were all professional and efficient. My requests were handled immediately and results exceeded my expectations. The hotel is clean and rooms are well appointed. Beds were quite comfortable. The location is within easy walking distance of numerous restaurants and there is a Starbucks in the lobby.

The location is right downtown and convenient for lots of reasons (see map to check out how close to everything).
From the moment you walk in, the place is well done.
But what struck me was how EVERY person there was VERY friendly. Not in the, I have to because I'm trained and told to do it, manner. But they seemed to all truly want to be helpful or just friendly. Impressive for sure.
Strong recommendation to stay here.

Room Tip: Since it's downtown, I did hear a siren once. Not sure how to avoid it.

I pricelined The Marriott Louisville, Downtown for a slight discount. Got in around 7:30pm and found the lobby to be very attractive. It went downhill after that. We had to wait in line for 15 minutes to check in. Then we went up to our room which we found to be very pleasant. We were tired after driving and working all day and we wanted to watch a movie and grab some room service. There was no menu in our room so we called room service and asked for a menu. An hour later, no menu. We went down to the desk and asked for a menu there. No menu there, but they said they would find one & sent it up shortly. 9:30pm- still no menu. Had to order a pizza for delivery when all we wanted was a salad & some soup!!! Ridiculous! Room service in the morning got the order wrong. $21.00 for parking and no free wireless. Not sure how long hotels like this can survive. It's just not worth it. They are so short-staffed. When you are traveling for business, you need to count on some good service. I'll never stay at a Marriott again. I'd much rather stay at a Hampton Inn.
