A remarkable place – one of the very best.
Flawless service (by that, I mean, polite, professional, prompt, well-dressed, well-spoken, and well-prepared - you get the idea...), a stylish room (love the high ceilings, the great shower, and nice touches like a decent radio). Gift shop sells Woodford Reserve, decent socks and neckties and lots of other uncommon goodies). Breakfast and lunch and bar always good (did not have dinner there).
It's ALL good, but of the "bad" parts - if you don't know that before you book, blame yourself - not the hotel (with a bad rating, for instance). The place is used for plenty of weddings, so if an occasional crowd of well-dressed happy people bothers you - you've been notified. It's pricey, it's not on the river, there is no pool, and the neighborhood - while improving - is not for everyone. But you know those things before you book, right? So let them go...and just enjoy! NO PLACE is perfect for everyone. Parking is about 100 feet away, in a deck - $12/day. Valet is $20, if you choose. Coffee is free - but you might have to ask for it. It's not part of any points program. Common areas are scented. Some construction noise outside (obviously not at night). Prefer a real door on the bathroom to barndoor. I don’t care about any of those things – so – 5 stars!
