We made a point of stopping here while on vacation. First of all, let me explain how kind and helpful the owners are. We bought a geode, which they will cut for you with their big saw. We already had a MUCH larger geode in the car and when we asked, the lady agreed to cut it for us too. There was all manner of kitsch here, just as you'd expect. There were also some darned nice pieces, if you're a rock and gem collector. Do not miss the Mystery House. It's a great opportunity for some memorable photos and the girl who gives the tour is cute as can be. If you have vertigo at all, you might want to skip it though. It will throw you off. And don't miss seeing Big Mo, either the concrete representation or the fossilized skull. There are two sides to this shop. The main building has a little bit of everything and the one across the parking lot has the serious gems and rocks. This isn't Disneyland, folks, but you'll have a lot of laughs here and find a few trinkets. And where else are you going to see a giant Mosasaur skull?

My family is always on the lookout for little hole in the wall shops where we can just look around. This one is very good. Some of the stuff is way over priced, expecially the geodes. Note they are not local, but imported from other countries. If you want some local geodes at a good price there is a little shop at a couple's home right down the road. But it was a cool shop to lok through

Lots of minerals, geodes, and slag glass. I particularly liked the glass. A huge assortment of colors and shapes.

Went to Big Mike's and was frightened by the person in the shop whom spoke of end of days. Not a great sales pitch for selling goods. She also extolled the Virtue of lapis against the skin for safety? Again spooky and way out of my comfort zone. Goods are mostly not worth viewing and you would do better picking up rocks or broken glass at the rest area parking lot.
