The Wigwams are a throwback to roadside motels and road trips from another era. My wife and I stayed there about 15 years ago with our kids and returned last week with two foreign exchange students. Places like this are an American treasure that help preserve the memories of another generation. Unfortunately very little maintenance has been done since our last trip. A tiny space heater was inadequate to heat the room on a couple of chilly days and a towel was stuffed into the window on the door to avert drafts. The furniture was old and worn and the shower barely produced enough hot water for two showers. The paint was flaking off the walls and the place is in general disrepair. Stay there if you want to experience a slice of Americana, but don't expect a lot of them. I added the third star only because of the history. Otherwise it's a two star motel.

Had a great stay. If your going here expecting a holiday inn express then you will be disappointed. A little outdated but clean and friendly would definitely stay again. Love the nostalgia of true Americana

I think 3 stars in the best you can give a roadside motel constructed in the 50s. Everything worked, it was a teepee and was a unique experience. It's a fun experience and kind of a bucket list thing, just expect it to be an old motel

Our family of 4 was headed to Kentucky Down Under and Mammoth Cave. We booked a Wigwam and had a great time. The owners were on site, very sweet and helpful. The unit was not spacious, wasn't modern or updated BUT it was clean, cozy and perfect for a family getaway. In the evening, the kids played on the playground with other kids while the adults sat around, enjoyed some drinks and enjoyed the sunset. This place is perfect to enjoy some time unplugged. The location is convienient to stores and restaurants as well. Couldn't recommend this experience more!!

We enjoyed our stay in the Wigwam but only because we were able to see it through the eyes of the kids. I expected dated as they were built in the ‘30’s, but updates would have made our stay much more pleasant. The quilts could have used a good washing, and the bathroom tile needed repair and updates. No light fixture on one of the bathroom lights, just a bare bulb. The window was in bad need of washing.....BUT, it wasn’t dirty, just very old. The staff was friendly, the playground fun for the kids, and the quirkiness of the place made it memorable and enjoyable. If you want a throw back to your childhood, this is the place to enjoy it. And the kids loved it, and it was their spring break trip so that’s what counts!
