My husband and I recently stayed here for an in-town getaway while his parents watched our son for the night. We were very impressed. We stayed in Margaret's Porch Suite. We were surprised at how serene it felt to sit in the courtyard by the pond in the morning and not feeling like we were in the middle of the city. It is springtime and the landscaping was lovely. We also enjoyed having our coffee on the front porch of our room in two very cute white, rocking chairs. The bed was very comfortable! I'm 34 weeks pregnant and this was our last night away before baby, so I slept just about as well as I could right now, which is saying a lot for a night away from my own bed :) They had an adult coloring book where you could color a page and enter to win a free night, which I thought was such a fun idea and would have done it if we were there longer. They had a huge selection of movies to borrow, a microwave, and fridge in the room. They really did think of everything, down to lip balm on the amenity tray, bubbles for the Jacuzzi tub, a pretty good selection of complimentary snacks and beverages in the kitchen, and even umbrellas by the front door to borrow. Everything felt like very high quality - towels, bed linens, etc. We really loved breakfast! They give you a huge selection to choose from with pictures in the information booklet to help you decide. Entrees come with a side of breakfast meat or eggs and a huge fruit salad with strawberries, pineapple, blueberries, and kiwi. We loved that we got to eat in our room! This was exactly what we needed to feel pampered and rested before going into the busy season of a newborn. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that it is an old house and there were guests in the room right above us, so it sounded very loud each and everytime they walked around the room or if anyone was in the kitchen right next to our room.
Next time we would just choose to stay upstairs, which I believe is the Dream Suite instead and we would try to stay more than one night!
