“Nice trails”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 April 2012

Nice trails that go along Chisholm Creek. I've seen many different types of waterfowl, cranes, herons, turtles, turkeys, hawks, deer and song birds. Unfortunately many people leave their trash along the creek.

“Go take a hike!”

We make a point of hiking the trails here whenever we are in the area. Go early or late in the day for a better chance of seeing the deer.

“GPNC is great getaway!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 February 2012

This is my new jogging spot. It has multiple paths, lots of sight-seeing to see while on a nice jog. I've seen multiple people here jogging, walking, biking and skating.
Great for an afternoon/evening stroll with the family or loved one. Quiet!
PLUS IT'S FREE!!!

“Nice breath of fresh air”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 December 2011

I found out about the Great Plains Nature Center after I was hiking in the park attached to the the center. One day I decided to see what was inside and was absolutely surprised. It was a full nature museum/center with live animals and demonstrations. There are places to learn about the local flora and fauna as well as a nature vista room to watch a pond and all the birds, animals, and fish. They even have a huge fish tank set up just like the local rivers and streams. Great place for kids and adults alike. They even have a small gift shop. If you are in the area and want something free to do that is very educational and fun I'd point you there. I've been to the park probably 50 times for hiking, fishing, and geocaching. I've been to the center maybe 6 or 7 times and have enjoyed it each time!
