The attention to detail is just mind boggling! Nothing can prepare you for this visit. The location is a little off beat and getting there will take some time but it's totally worth it.

Situated deep in a forest, the location is very serene and soothing. After exploring the work, just sit there and relax. The cool breeze will refresh you in no time!

Tourists are allowed only after 12 PM.
There is a mess which serves basic jain food (Rice, Dal, Sabzi) for 50 bucks uptill 1 PM.
There are separate camera and entry fees.
Audio guides are available.
No mobile phones, leather articles allowed inside the temple - lockers available.

What could I say about the monument it's a must see, difficult to arrive there from Udaipur but not disappointing. Except the amount of rules to go inside which is really ridiculous. It's like security guys prohibit people to do something but even them don't know why... pathetic. And to give the best proof... "to keep this sacred place, it is forbidden to take pictures" but if you pay 100Rs you can take pictures like 100Rs will give back the sacred place yeah yeah :p

Ranakpur is situated between Udaipur and Jodhpur. If your trip to Rajasthan includes a drive between Udaipur and Jodhpur, i suggest you stop by. Alternatively you can combine Rankapur and Kumbhalgarh fort in a days trip from Udaipur

The marble work in this Jain temple is simply stunning. There is no other way to describe it. Cameras are allowed into the temple but not inside the Garb Griha( sanctum Santorium). Spend some time seeing and appreciating the fine marble work.

The temple also serves good simple vegetarian lunch. If you arrive in time for lunch you can eat here.

Remember that you need to have trousers below knee length to enter the temple. So dress appropriately. Alternatively they will provide you with a trouser for Rs 20.
