“Peaceful bliss and hospitality overlooking the deep blues of the Libyan Sea”

We loved our apartment with its generous balcony giving us our uninterrupted view of the blue Libyan sea. The high quality of the furnishing (modern and really elegant) and lovely grounds (pick your own basil, figs and oranges) set it apart from everything else we’ve seen or stayed in during our many trips to Crete. Took us only an hour to get from Heraklion and the owner, Stavros, proved amazingly hospitable. We can’t wait to go back – really great value and highly recommended. We also liked the unspoilt feel of Kastri, the beachside village adjoining Keratokampos, where we enjoyed superb food in all 7 of its Tavernas – a huge choice for such a tiny place! There are great beaches to visit nearby, so you can choose from a few minutes walk to a five-minute drive. It definitely beats the more developed resorts on either end of the bay – Arvi or Tsoutsouras which can each be reached within 20 minutes drive – they lack the surprising charm of Kastri and you don’t get to enjoy wonderful local food sitting above the waves as you do in tavernas overlooking Keratokampou Bay.

“Outstaning accommodation in Kastri-Keratokampos”

Lovely people and good equipped apartments or studios, all in a very good condition. Family operated facility with a nice view to the ocean and the habor. A place where you want to spend your holidays!

Good Tavernas nearby and some lonely beaches with relatively little tourists. Just stay and relax. Stavros and his parents are very friendly lessors and invited us to fresh water melon and Raki the last evening. You should really take into consideration to stay here!

Moderate price even in high season! Bonus: Very fast Wi-Fi connection!!! The only disadvantage of this facility is that you have to carry your luggage downhill / uphill depending which apartment you own. So it is not recommended for handicapped people.

“Most relaxing holidays ever! And with lots of hidden brilliant attractions in the area! AND USEFUL TIPS:”

Absolutely brilliant apartments and service. The hotel manager went beyond the call of duty to help us get the most of our visit in the area and to make our stay so comfortable and relaxing.

Appartments/ rooms: Very spacious, extremely clean and well presented. The view (from all rooms i think) is absolutely breath-taking!

Location: Only a few minutes on foot (!!) from brilliant sandy beaches.

Also: Only a few minutes from the apartments is a fairly new ART gallery with an astounding collection of paintings and sculptures of some of the most renowned Greek artists of the 20th and 21st century. Don't miss it!

What I also really liked about this place is that although it is so close to major airports/ harbour (only over 30-45 minutes from Heraklion), it feels as if you have really gone beyond the overcrowded commercialized touristy parts of Crete! You can experience some of the most beautiful landscapes and beaches and local culture and atmosphere.

- If you like hiking/ walking: bring your sports shoes with you for the most memorable walks on the hills and shores of South Crete.

Other Useful tip:
- You can email the apartments for any questions you may have and they are really good at getting back to you with helpful advice. They are also really helpful while you're there, so do ask them to point you to the most interesting attractions of the area.

- The fact that the apartment has a kitchen is brilliant. You can buy the world famous Cretan products, fruits and salads from the local markets and have the best dinner ever at no cost.

“The most tranquil getaway resort over looking the serene Libyan Sea”

"The best kept secret in the southern coast of Crete!"
My wife and I stayed one of our most enjoyable weekends at the Portela luxury apartments in Kastri, Crete from sat 29th June till July 1st, 2013. It was the perfect setting for a very restful and interesting stay. Starvros and his staff were very helpful and friendly, attending all our needs to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. Our well-furnished luxury suite had a beautiful view of the calm Libyan sea and the vast ocean stretching all the way to the African continent. There were many interesting places to visit in the area, including ancient Egyptian towns like Tsoutsouros. The sea was calm and inviting to take a dip and the beach side and hinterland was ideal for hiking over the rolling sand dunes. All in all it was the perfect romantic getaway holiday for the two of us to remember and cherish for a lifetime to come.
Thank you Starvros and your team for making it a reality.
