Very old motel. Parking 5 steps from your room door. Quiet except when your neighbors slam their door. Staff was friendly and helpful. Conveniently located 20 mins from Historic Nauvoo. It's a nice beautiful drive. Good value for the price! Grassy area with a picnic table to enjoy an outdoor meal.Buffet directly across the street that is old but the food was very Good!

Room Tip: Request a room in the rear away from the road. More quiet there.

We stayed a night at the Budget Inn here. Keokuk is not on the main track crosscountry. But if you're crossing the Midwest on US136, that little tip of Iowa between Illinois and Missouri is very distinct from the surrounding area. The local economy seems strong and growing. We stayed at the Budget Inn there, not a new motel, but fastidiously maintained by the family who owns it. The staff were indeed family- friendly, kind, and attentive to travelers needs. I was very impressed by the energy the staff exhibited, even late at night- friendly and helpful. The room was standard, but very clean.
My teenage sons reminds me to mention the motel's friendly cats, who greeted him immediately and welcomed him with affection. We would definitely stay there again, and recommend it to other travelers.

We stayed here two nights in early June. First of all, you need to realize this place is not going to compete with the Hampton or the Baymont down the street, or even the Super 8. This is an older motel with no breakfast and no pool. The outside looks older and worn. But the rooms have been remodeled, and are very nice! Everything in the room is in good condition, nice decor and pleasing colors. There is no coffee in the room, or even in the office for that matter. There is a place across the street, Ogo's, that has a breakfast buffet. It's acceptable, but not great. If you don't mind doing without some amenities, and just want a nice clean room to stay in, this is the place! Again, do not hesitate to stay here!
