“Great location & clean hotel”
Reviewed 24 October 2011

We stayed for one night on a busy fall weekend. Parking is confusing but if you park on the top deck you can walk right into the lobby and elevator area. We stayed in a whirlpool suite and the hot tub was huge - bigger than we expected and bigger than the one in the main pool area. You could easily fit two (or more) people and it was deep so you could totally relax. Entire room was clean and bathroom had nice countertop area. Room looked like it could be updated some but overall wasn't bad. Only drawback from the room was there was not a table and chair set - only a desk & couch. Which is surprising because we had a sink, microwave and fridge. The pool is extremely small - enough for one family at a time. And the hotel hot tub would fit only 1 or 2 people max - make sure you look at the pictures on line. It is located in a great area where you feel safe and can walk to alot of attractions. We walked to Vinny Vanuccis (EXCELLENT) for dinner at night and had no worries. We also walked to Cable Car Square and the Fenelon Elevator. Hotel does offer a free shuttle to both casinos as well.

Priceline ended up setting us up with this hotel, but we enjoyed the two nights we stayed there. The rooms were nice and modern. Bathrooms had a large granite vanity-type counter. Room had a decent sized LCD TV. Bedding was nice with several different pillow options, and evidently we could have requested still others. We used the pool, which was on the small side but just fine for our two small boys. The whirlpool was closed for some reason.

The location is excellent - we walked to the 4th street elevator, the Mississippi River Museum, and the river walk. Parking is free and easy access.

If free breakfast had been part of the deal (I feel it should be at this price point) I would have given this five stars. The only other thing that I can think of that would have been nice would be a refrigerator in the room.

We stayed one night. Beautiful and clean hotel. It is at the corner of 4th and Main so it was an easy walk to the Fenelon Place elevator. Plus there are several shops and restaurants along Main. It was a quick drive to go over one block to 3rd street and across the bridge to the Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium and the Diamond Jo casino area.
The only drawback was the pool. It is very small - maybe 15 ft x 15 ft. My 3 kids were the only ones in the pool so it was fine for the one night we stayed. The hot tub wasn't much bigger than a bucket of water. (Not sure why they even bothered).

I was a little leery after reading the reviews, but the location was so great: right in the middle of downtown and walking distance to the riverfront. It was so nice not to have to get back in the car! The entire hotel appeared spotless. Our room (two doubles) was a nice size, very clean, crisp linens and decent towels, extra pillows. Furniture was up to date and in very good condition. The bathroom was decent sized as well, up to date and clean. The front desk was very friendly and helpful. Yes, the pool is small, but not tiny. My only complaint would be that breakfast was $9.95 a person (at least on Sundays) and that is a little steep for a quick bite to eat and it was hard to find a quick breakfast nearby, but all and all, I would wholly recommend this hotel.
