Went with someone who had an interest in fans. Fun to see the really old ones. It is amazing the evolution that fans have gone through.

I went to the museum and was totally surprised at the number of different fans and the age Of them. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and did most of the repairs of the antique fans himself. There are 2 floors of different types. I was also interested in the hand fans...most of which were fans with ads for funeral homes, gas stations, etc. The second floor has some hands on controls so you can make the fan move. A fun 1 1/2.

My kids and I loved it. So many neat things to see. Kim was our tour guide and he went above and beyond. Ask for Kim if you visit.

If you like antiques or vintage styled things, this a worthwhile stop. Just two rooms, so not a long stop, but very well done. I have a single antique fan, so wanted to stop here while on a roadtrip. We only had an hour - I could have browsed a bit longer. Never would have guessed there have been so many different types of fans with so many unique designs. And believe it or not - it's free! Hosted by a modern fan company, simply because the owner is interested, with fans on display from private collectors. They also have a fan restoration workshop on the site (though not necessarily open to guests). You go in through the company's front door and ask at the reception desk. The displays are bright and well-lit. See the picture above - that's exactly how it is.

Fun little museum to check out if you're a "FAN" of fans, design, ideas, history and/or unique collections! The Fanimation team is friendly and while the museum is packed with tons of interesting specimens the room itself is not too big, easy to get around and you can spend a long visit or see it quickly, easy in/out.
