Wow, we just loved it.
The villa was exactly as we expected it. It was truly beautiful. I had the room on the second floor, to the right (if looking out to sea). The room was great, the bathroom was enormous, and the air con worked great.
The facilities at the villa itself was truly outstanding - we felt like we were in a movie! The pool is amazing, the beach is nice, there are lots of places to eat dinner, inside, outside, on the patio and even down at the beach. It was just stunning.
There was more than enough dishes/pots/pans and cutlery etc to host us all and we loved eating together as a group each night. Just beautiful.
The Wi-Fi was pretty bad, as was almost all of our Canadian mobile network signals. We felt a little 'cut off' from society and the rest of the world (probably a good thing) Maybe we shouldn't have been too bothered being in such a lovely villa, but it is nice to have bragging rights when staying in such a fabulous place. Also, the ice machine broke down towards the end of our trip.
We fed the wildlife (not sure if you're supposed too) but the cat/kittens had a good feed whilst we were there, as did the iguanas.
I am typing this review feeling very blue indeed. Our week just was not long enough, not even close. We wish we had booked 2 weeks instead. Even 10 days wouldn't have been enough to be honest.
You will need a car - without a doubt. There isn't anywhere to buy anything from that doesn't require a car. We had 3 between our group which was just right.
Karaktar Restaurant nearby was amazing food and location. A little pricey, but worth it.
Take lots of Insect Repellent. We saw a few Mosquitoes, but they were not the issue. The issue here is the Sand fleas & flies. We all (11 of us) got bitten terribly. On return to Canada, 4 of us became seriously sick, which our doctors put down to the bites which covered our bodies. We all had fever and sickness.
I would definitely return to this Villa in a heartbeat. I absolutely LOVED IT! The host, Brigitte was so friendly on arrival and was always quick to answer our questions pre-travel.
You will need EUROPEAN plug adapters, but there are North American ( and i think i saw British) adapters readily available in most rooms. Most rooms come with a hairdryer too - save you packing one.
If you are viewing this villa, just hit BOOK NOW, you wont be disappointed. I wish i could go back right now. If i was to return to Curacao, i would want to stay here again.
What a wonderful way to spend a week in Curacao. We had a small group of 5 adults and one 15 month old so we had lots and lots of room. Everything was well done from the all the furniture and pool deck chairs and high end appliances to the little beach with the day-bed. All the bedrooms air conditioned and thank goodness they were as the first two days we were there it was unusually calm with no breeze at all.
We spent a lot of time in around the pool to stay cool. You have to try the snorkeling just off the little beach as it is as good as anywhere on the island. If you happen to get rained- in the cinema room is a great place to spend a few hours and no need to bring any movies as they have almost anything you want to watch!
The neighborhood is in a very quiet and secure place with a gated and security monitored entrance. You are not but a block away from a very nice beach with services (Karakter Beach).
I highly recommend this Villa for small to very large groups as there is room for everybody and something for everybody to do and no more than 45 minutes’ drive to anywhere on the Island and yes you will need a rental car and Brigitte will be happy to arrange one for you.
This is a place that you would see and wish you could be at. Well you can be there. It looks fabulous and as great as the pictures look they don't do it justice. If there was a reason to go to Curaçao this is it. Two of us went and it was perfect to have this huge compound to yourself. Space , views, huge pool and the theater is perfect. Your best place to relax and enjoy. Can't say enough good things about it. Splurge and go right now
