We went here for dinner after visiting flea market all day so we were very hungry and this place did not disappoint. Fresh, hot food ready to eat from the buffet was very good. Limited dessert on bar, so plan on buying a piece of pie or 2, it was great.

We weren't sure if we were going to have time to see this, so glad that we did! It gave the history of the Amish, Hutterites and Mennonites in a very interesting and fascinating way. Very well put together, you went from room to room with each progression, even the kids on the tour enjoyed it. You'll love the tornado room!

Many people are curious about the Amish & Mennonite cultures. This is the place to go!! Menno Hof shares a great story of how these two groups came into existence during the Reformation! In addition to the theological perspective you will learn about the their persecution and how they eventually made it to the United States. You will learn about the things that make each group unique. This is worth your time in Shipshewana!!

We got in at the tail end of the day. The hosts were very gracious in letting us take our time and finish the tour. They were very knowledgeable and helpful. Though we knew a lot about these groups ahead of time, we still learned quite a bit about their beliefs, persecution, etc. Little children may not understand much, but junior and senior high students could learn a lot. Great place for homeschool students to visit.

If you haven't been to the Menno-Hof museum, it is definitely worth an hour of your time. Curators take you on a guided tour through a series of rooms that explain the history of the Amish and Mennonite people, starting with the beginning of Christianity all the way through to the Roman Empire, the impact of the invention of the Printing Press, persecution, migration to America, and life in current day Shipshewana. Each room has short (5 minute) high quality videos that complement the topic of the room. This is a great place - very well done with high quality exhibits. We did leave after an hour as the kids got a little antsy but they were engaged for the bulk of the time and found it interesting. There is a small kids play area at the end as well. And they probably would have enjoyed the Tornado room, but we didn't make it that far.
