We were only able to stop for a few minutes, mainly to see what The Homestead was all about, since we had eaten a light breakfast at our hotel. We are familiar with Amish bulk food stores and as you walk in past the small but very cute displays of seasonal gifts, you will find shelves loaded with spices, kitchen staples, jam, pickles, etc. They serve breakfast and lunch and you could be seated in their dining room. We opted to pick up a cup of coffee and a raspberry scone, but delicious looking cinnamon and pecan rolls were also available to take away. A take-out hot and cold counter was also near the checkout area, I would imagine they get a lot of business here for people who wish to take home a delicious meal from The Homestead. We will plan to stop next year for breakfast on our way north!
