August 18th-21st-------Family Cabin with 3 adults and 3 children. The Family Cabin was a great choice for the six of us. Upstairs there are two bedrooms---one with a king bed and one with a queen bed. Lower level has two sofa beds. Grandma & Grandpa slept on the sofa bed and it was comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked with dishes, silverware and pots & pans. Electric stove, microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot and toaster. Cabins were described as housekeeping and they are. Nice deck off the back with a picnic table. Great to have morning coffee and watch the birds. Racoons liked to peak in the patio doors at night. LOL Plenty of towels for the shower only bath.
The water park/pool was great for the three kids ages 6, 8 and 11. They were all very well entertained there. It was very well supervised and there were lots of chairs and towels for you to use.
We had dinner one evening at the lodge and the food and service were good. There was no buffet only menu service. We also discovered that most of the restaurants in Nashville are closed Mondays and/or Tuesdays! So plan accordingly.
We did the horseback riding in the park. We all enjoyed it. Minimum age is 8 so our little one had a pony ride while we did the trail ride. $25 a person for one hour ride we felt was reasonable. We also did several hikes, went fishing and visited the Nature Center.
Very enjoyable getaway for our three generations!
