We enjoyed dinner on a Thursday night at Samira's and had an excellent meal. We both tried the special plates which included smaller amounts of several entrees. One included a lamb kebob, meat dumpling (extremely tender filled pasta), eggplant slices, a spinach puree, a samosa, and rice with seasonings. The lamb was tender and beautifully cooked, as was everything else. Another of us had a vegetarian special that included dahl, more slices of eggplant and spinach puree, and other vegetarian options with rice. Upon arriving we were served very thin slices of eggplant marinated in garlic and vinegar--they were delicious on the flat bread also provided. At the close of our meal small biscotti were also provided at no additional charge. Quantities were generous and the meal was very reasonable (under $40 for two people) and delicious. Our server was fun, attentive, and helpful. We were eating early but the restaurant was already filling. It is on a city block that seems uneven in its businesses' success, but this restaurant is doing well and should not to be missed.
