This is the best restaurant we know of for Mediterranean foods. It is a no-frills restaurant where you order at the register, pick up the food at the next counter and even serve yourself your drinks.

The mint iced tea is our favorite.

It is very easy for a vegan or vegetarian to eat here without worry.

I usually have the falafel sandwich and either hummus or baba ghannoug along with an iced mint tea. The falafal is very good, though I have had better elsewhere - more tender in the center.

We have been to all of their locations, but the one that is closest to us is in Wheeling. It is always crowded, with all ethnic groups. This place is a melting pot, everyone loves this food.

If you go to the location in Wheeling, there is a guy at the register where you place your order . . . he cracks me up, he is a real jokester. I always see him at lunchtime on weekdays.

My husband loves the lamb, maybe called "shwarma"? They put it in a pita. They have a fantastic deal at lunch called the "business lunch" or something. I would order it, but I am not supposed to eat meat.

The baba is so tasty, they cannot make a plate large enough for us. I just brought home a quart today, and we will have it for snacks for the next few days with raw veggies. It is smokey flavored and so delicious.

They also play very interesting middle-eastern music, it helps to fill out the atmosphere.

Also, the place is so clean. The guys who clean the tables are really industrious and conscientious.

The only complaint that I might have is that most of the time their pita is dried out and tough. I think they make it themselves, so I don't understand what they could possibly do to make it tough and dry. Or maybe they heat it in the microwave which toughens breads up.

I want them to open a location here in Arlington Heights, there is the perfect spot on Northwest Highway just west of Wilke Road. An old McDonalds location. Maybe they will read this and scope it out.
