First let me say the staff here is fantastic! The front desk staff go above and beyond to accomodate your needs. The ladies in the dining room in the morning are so friendly. The maintenance men are wonderful as well. Tomasz from room service has such a welcoming demenor.
My first night i put my ice pack in the freezer for after my workout in the morning only to return to a hotpack as it was never plugged in! Nowadays, the hotel refrigerators turn on once items are placed inside them so i thought nothing of it when placed my ice pack in it and it was warm.
Additionally, the two cooks (two males from 4/4-4/7) preparing the eggs made to order need some serious customer service and culinary training.
The first cook (Hispanic male) handed me a raw egg when i ordered over easy! After i showed him, he then left it on the burner for another five minutes, turning into egg over blackened. I stuck to scrambled/omlettes after that experience.
Today, (4/7/17) there was another cook (white male) and i was excited and hopeful that he knew how to make an over easy egg. Nope! This egg was instead overFRIED, yolk busted and soaked in oil. Definitely not worth the calories. I also ordered egg whites scrambled with diced ham, cheese, mushrooms and spinach. That too was drenched in oil and then covered with cold shredded cheese.
Please note I absolutely love eggs, but my medical condition will only allow me to have one over easy egg daily so when it is burnt, busted or too greasy it sucks! Especially when you're paying $16.00 for breakfast!
The cooks use nonstick pans and still drown your eggs with oil. In fact, both cooks made me wish i settled for the scrambled eggs instead. They also were the only staff members that were not friendly.
On my last day (4/7/17), the cook had the nerve to have a tip basket! Seriously?!?! As if we don't tip the signed bill. As if he was friendly, made eggs well and deserving of one!
Besides this, the pillows absolutely suck. I feel like this DoubleTree should pay for my massage to get the crook out my neck!
All in all, it met my basic needs of food, fitness and shelter. Again, the staff ere really fantastic.
Offering firm pillow options, ensuring your cooks can actually cook eggs and doing some room inspections or checklist before guest check-in would make a world of difference with customer loyalty, as there are too many local hotels nearby not to!
