Never a bad experience when we go here. The service and the food are always great. The waitress was very accomodating when I asked for a small modification to a menu item and didn't even charge me any extra

we ordered the food delivered but i don't think that was the problem here. the food arrived promptly and was hot, and the order was correct. i only tried the dish i ordered which was the pasta con mozzerella....which had barely any mozzerella on it. there was a tomato-basil cream sauce on it only the description failed to mention the cream--if it had, i would have ordered something else.

meanwhile, the two people who ordered the spinach ravioli said that it was tasty but a rather small portion. the pasta con pollo was the thing that got the most approval from the diner; the pasta with veggies (i forget the italian name) less so. nothing was actively bad, just sort of okay and it felt overpriced. can't tell you about the in restaurant experience.

We have been to this restaurant a couple of times now. Each time we come away saying it was a "good" dinner. The food is solid, but not spectacular. The portions are generous, so we usually have leftovers to reheat for a lunch. Service is always very friendly, but not always particularly well informed. On our last visit, we asked our server for a wine recommendation. She said that she wasn't familiar with very many of the wines, but pointed to one that "other people order a lot."

All in all, a good restaurant. Lots of choices on the menu. And friendly service. But not our "go to" place for great Italian.

As a frequent patron of Mia Francesca on Clark and Francesca’s on Bryn Mawr, surprised at the mediocre quality of the food served and the disinterested staff at this restaurant. A recommended carpaccio was attractively presented, but poor in taste; two fish entries were edible, but barely tasty. Granted it was a busy Thursday night, but food and service were far below expected Francesca quality.
Went to Mia Francesca on Clark on 1/12/20, and found food spectacular (sautéed calamari in white wine sauce to die for), and service impeccable and SO personal. . like a family was serving dinner.

Francesca’s in St. Charles needs a “do-over.”

Four of us had the special Thanksgiving buffet this year (2019). The ambiance was warm and the service good. There were lots of choices, but some were disappointing. Especially for stuffing lovers. The stuffing did not resemble stuffing at all, more of a watery soup-like dish. Not at all tasty, and no seconds on that (as we usually have). The stuffing (dressing) should have been the easiest to provide, and was listed as "traditional" although we have never tasted anything like it. The desserts were only ok...no pumpkin pie. Having spent over $300 on this special meal, we would not do be tempted to do it again next year.
