The hotel was very cute and clean. The staff is great. They have a slot machine room and a day spa. The pool is huge and very nice. It is not directly in Galena's historical district but it is only a short drive.

During our girls weekend we opted to stay here at the Ramada due to its close proximity to the Indulge Spa (right inside the building). It was a huge plus to also receive 15% off of spa services for staying at the hotel. The hotel is situation right off of the highway, and very close to a Culver’s, McDonald’s and Wal-Mart. It’s about a 5 minute drive from the downtown shopping area.

Upon entering the hotel I observed it was very clean, well decorated and friendly front desk staff. There was a small snack shop, that also sold wine, a room with gambling machines and this is also where the spa is. We stayed in a King size suite, which included a jacuzzi tub and fire place in the room. It also led to a small patio out the door that’s only access is in the room. It was on the ground floor, and very quiet corner of the hotel.

The room was very clean and well laid out. The bed was comfy, and had a cute little step stool to get into the bed (it was very high 4 post bed). The tv is situated in the corner of the room on top of the fire place - which has a small couch in front of it. It was difficult to see the Tv from the bed, but just a shift of the tv makes it easier to see. The bedding was clean and seemed fresh, plenty of pillows and warm blankets. There were lots of clean towels and wash cloths, some specifically for make up removal (they were dark colored).

The hotel offered an indoor pool, with a hot tub. We did not use this but it was a large, clean area. There was also a life sized chess table and pool table there. They offered free (delicious) cookies at the front desk, and an ice machine was down the hall from our room. Breakfast was served in the morning down the hall and had a great variety of good food. Including waffles, French toast, cereal, bagels, fruit, yogurt, and eggs. They also had tea, coffee, and juice for beverages. There was plenty of seating in the room and clean tables and chairs.

All in all it was a very positive experience, I would recommend staying here. As I will also be returning to the hotel to indulge at the spa in the future.

Nice, comfortable, and accommodating A little pricey, but very clean. No elevator, so you might want to request a ground floor room. Only 2 levels, but a bit of a hassle when you have more than 1 bag to carry up. In room small fridge came in very useful ..

Typical Ramada Inn room. Very disappointed in the free breakfast. The two hot items were French toast sticks and hash. Otherwise waffles, fruit, bagles, cereal. Off the main highway so noise was not noticed.

Air conditioning unit did not work in the room and the phone was broken. We found two roaches crawling on the wall in our room. When I called the front desk about the internet they gave me a phone number to call. I did report the phone to the front desk being broken no one came to fix it. I figured I would tell the maintenance man about the air conditioner when he came to fix the phone but he never showed. The cool part about this hotel is it's right next door to a haunted mansion.
