As kids we would ride or bikes from Dubuque to East Dubuque to get a chilly dog About once a month. Now its about 3 or 4 times a year, brings back memories and still as good as I remember. The bar is dated and has a lot of history on the walls

The bar has to be one of the longest in the midwest stretching the entire length of the room. Find a spot and order two of the famous chill dogs. Add some onion and you're all set. If it isn't busy they'll bring you one at at time. I say two as I'm a guy and I like my chili dogs. This place used to shut down East Dubuque back in the day of the Strip Joints and other establishments open longer than those on the Iowa side. But that's the bygone days. East Dubuque is clean and safe and just a great place to stop by for a meal. Also check out the view of the Mississippi River at twilight just under the bridge. Definitely something to see.

Have stopped several time for the foot-long chili dog……..what a great treat. They are the best. So we decided to stop for their Lenten fish special. A 2-piece Pollack……and was not disappointed. Was actually close to 3-4 pieces. Came with baked potato and cole slaw (or tossed salad). We'll definitely be back.

The outside is kind of run-down, but the food and service are the best.

This place is a part of local history. Oh, those colorful Mulgrews. A footlong w/chili and onions, a scoop of draft on the side , yum. Also, other sandwiches , lttery tickets, liquor store and easy access.

Food is greasy and bartenders unfriendly.
I won't be going back. The price is right but no atmosphere whatsoever.
