Description: The use of stones or rocks for cooking is not altogether new...It goes back to 18,000 B.C. The natural ability of stones to retain and radiate heat has made it the ideal cooking source through a diverse range of cultures. Lava rocks are pieces of crushed volcanic stone placed under the food on a special grate or plate. They collect juices and fat that drip down from the cooking area. When the juices contact the hot rocks, they produce smoke, which wafts up around the food. The result is a flavor closer to that from charcoal grilling than from conventional gas grilling. Using lava rock lets you enjoy the convenience of gas without loss of flavor. Volcanic rocks used at the Trails End Lodge are heated in a special oven and are then placed onto specially-designed stoneware plates made to withstand the intense heat. The rocks are then delivered to your table along with your entree selection. Start cooking your steak, fish and veggies and soon you'll be hearing the sizzle and smell the aroma of your meal cooking right before your very eyes. Each bite is hot, juicy and delicious. The best part is...You control it all!

Wonderful place to visit. We had the shrimp, pork chops and steak and shrimp kabobs. Everything was perfect and great experience.

We found this place on line about eating off a hot lava stone and wanted to try it. I would recommend it to anybody. I asked the waitress what was the best item to order for this cooking method. She said steak. I ordered steak and the rest of our party had shrimp or chicken. She gave good instructions and the steak was excellent. The other dishes okay. All the food came at once which made it interesting. Large portions. Cold beer. Not disappointed we tried this new experience.

My sister and I had dinner at this restaurant last weekend. She ordered a grilled chicken salad and I had the chicken Caesar salad. When the salads arrived they were exactly the same except for the dressing! A Caesar does not had red onions, cucumbers, tomatoes and mixed greens! I was very disappointed, we also had a problem with the service, one person took our order another person took our drink order and yet another person brought out the drinks. When the salads finally arrived they were brought by yet another server. Had to ask for silver, All in all not a good experience.

Great place for an afternoon drink and enjoy the view. We are not a fan of the stone cooked meals but the sandwiches are good. If you are expecting a fancy dinner this is not the place. We love to go here and relax, enjoy the boxers and have a beer. Our waitress Carley was excellent. We will be back.

Cooked my steak on a lava stone right at the table. It was delicious! Staff was quick and friendly. We sat indoors but went outside to check out the deck area and it was beautiful. They had karaoke starting before we left. Will most definitely visit here again when we are in the area.
