While traveling in Rajasthan we were looking for unique attractions and found this great place. It’s a family House which was restored. It has 30 rooms and is located 40 km outside Jodhpur in a remote quiet village. The owner and stuff were kind and polite, they assigned one of the stuff to escort us to a stroll in the village in which we visited the nearby lake, watched the birds, met the village people and kids and set for a Masala tea outside one of the houses getting a closer look at their life. Dinner and Breakfast were delicious. In the morning we visited the nearby Art center which enables the women of the village to earn money and be educated. A great initiative of the same owner. Overall this is a unique and different experience. Highly recommended.

This place is just 40 mins from Jodhpur and a wonderful palce to stay.
Its a small boutique place, service by all staff is excellent, the owner Thakur is often there himself and a wonderful personality to meet.
The food was excellent and for the start of our trip , this was a great first impression of the small homestay/boutique places to stay in Rajasthan.

This was a little off the beaten track, but so glad we made the effort between the bustle of Pushkar and Jodphur. A fantastic opportunity to stay deep in the heart of rural Rajasthan. This Heritage Hotel is a converted mini-fort and has kept much of the character. The bedrooms are comfortable, clean and very spacious. Modern facilities without losing any of the traditional character. I enjoyed the swimming pool but as late November, the water was 'refreshing'! The hotel is on the edge of a large village and we wandered through it before supper. We took an optional 'safari' through the local villages the next day which was an amazing experience. Our guide, Tansing, (who lives in Chandelao village) spotted the huge 'Bull Antelope' and the shyer Black Buck. These antelope live in close proximity to the local people who actually milk the wild does and so they are used to people coming quite close.. as long as you don't get between a mother and her calf. Tansing, took us through the villages, ranging in size from a handful of houses to 3,000 people. Everyone seemed to know Tansing and we were invited for tea at a friend's house. Visited a local pottery and then, most bizarrely, to an 'Opium' ceremony. We were invited to drink opium tea but declined! Back at Chandelao for a beer on the terrace and a second delicious home cooked supper. There is no choice (apart from vegetarian or meat) and everyone eats together at refectory style tables which allowed us to chat to the owner and other Indian tourists... we were the only westerners. The owner has set up a women's co-operative next door which we visited where the women make clothes and craft items, allowing them some space and their own income in this fiercely patriarchal society.

We spent 3 nights at this wonderful property and wished we could have stayed longer. Our room was in the converted stable block, first morning we were woken up by the calls of the Demoiselle cranes flying overhead, marvellous sight. Another morning the call of the peacocks woke us at dawn and looking out of the bathroom window to the fields, there were half a dozen peacocks roaming around. Food and service was really good. Staff were very kind, nothing was too much trouble. Recommend a walk through the village and also take a camel cart ride through the countryside, very laid back way to experience rural India.

Would like to thank Pradumansinghji & his team of Indersinghji, ramsingh & sahil for their hospitality & making our stay memorable in Jodhpur.
The location is so beautiful of this centuries old haveli so artistically maintained with a colourful garden, manicured lawns & a super clean pool.

Beautiful, quaint rooms, very clean & hygienic, spacious. Each room different from the others.
The yummy wholesome breakfast in the mornings & the tasty dinner at nights all served with the traditional rajasthani hospitality.
The open Terrance with the dinning area under the stars was a treat for pre dinner cocktails.
Also they have a very successful training & working centre for the village women who make lovely handicrafts from raw to finished products just next to their property.
A must stay option if you have a vehicle to travel a little on the outskirts of main jodhpur city.
Mr. Indersinghji also guided us to the nearby isolated olvi lake to see the migratory flamingoes.
