We stayed at the Silversmith for 2 days and boy was it a wonderful experience.

We were welcomed by Enrique,Beverley and Patty who looked after us whilst were there. The staff in the restaurant were also great and very friendly.

The hotel is so well located with easy access to all of the places we wanted to see whilst in Chicago. The streets were clean and tidy. We felt very safe and had no trouble getting around.

The room was very spacious with premium inclusions which made us feel right at home. The WiFi was very fast and we were able to connect 5 of our devices - all free of charge.

We have decided to come back to Chicago and we will certainly book again at the Silversmith.

One suggestion is to ask for a room at the rear of the hotel thus avoiding the noise from the elevated rail line that goes down Wabash Street. No a big deal as the trains appear to not run as much in the evening however better if you can to the rear of the hotel.

The Silversmith, a Historic Hotel of America, is a located in the heart of Jewelers Row. It is walking distance to the Art Institute of Chicago, Grant and Millennium Park, and a slew of amazing restaurants. Be sure to peruse the jewelry store windows. The jewels are beautiful!

All the hotel staff that I encountered were above gracious and friendly. Check-in and parking were a breeze.

The king rooms are spacious. Desk, two nightstands, chair and ottoman, and blackout curtains for a goodnight sleep. The bathroom is well light, lovely shower, and more than enough towels.

Both of our rooms were in the back of the hotel and the view was of another building. I've been to Chicago enough times to not worry about a view that often. Considering the subway is right in front of this hotel I'm thankful we were in the back. it was insanely quiet. I couldn't believe it! The only thing I ever heard was a random siren and even that was muffled.

Great stay in downtown!

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back of the hotel away from the subway. You won't have a view, but it's incredibly quiet!

This hotel is just around the corner from the theatre as well as close to the Art Institute and shopping. The staff are helpful and friendly, and the room was clean. This boutique hotel is a much better choice than chain brands.

Room Tip: We mentioned that we were celebrating a special birthday, and they upgraded our room!

The hotel was a little difficult for us to find as it is nestled between two other establishments and the writing in very small on the front. We initially drove past it the first time. Once we had located the property, we had to determine where to unload and where to park. Luckily, there was a parking attendant kiosk located out front with the parking rates advertised. We opted for overnight parking with in and out privileges and the cost was $63.00.
Moreover, we read the reviews prior to booking and wasn't surprised about the destination fee. Our cast was $16.04. We didn't have complimentary bottled water in our room.
Overall, the hotel presented exactly like it was advertised. The furniture was modern and the checkout time was generous (noon). The ceilings were high and the decor was super contemporary. The front desk staff was efficient and the adjacent restaurant "Adamus" proved to have a robust drink menu as well as ample American Cuisine options.
Relative to cons, I would have to say it was the Subway. The noise was immense and every time I heard it I thought that it was raining/thundering. Next, would be the view. We were in room 709 and view consisted of the roof top of a lower level building. Other than that, my only other con would be in the cosmetic arena. The tile in the shower could use re grouting as it appeared really dingy and I wanted to wear flip flops in the shower.

We truly enjoyed our stay and recommend this hotel.
