Stayed at The Talbott for two nights. The hotel is very smart & welcoming. Perfect location near to many lovely bars & places to eat. Unfortunately we were near the linen room & got disturbed at 5 am but to be fair we were able to move room & given a magnificent breakfast. You must have breakfast at this hotel as it's so beautiful. Perry I think the gentleman that helped us was called & he is just so helpful & warm. There's also a great guy on concierge whom I talked to about Blue Chicago ( great place to listen to fab blues music) & this guy is cool & has soul. The rooms are really lovely & modern. We were told last orders at bar was at 11 pm but managed to get a beer/wine.
So if your after a later bar scene then maybe not great. Overall a great hotel with very attentive staff in a fab location.

We absolutely loved our experience at the newly renovated Talbott Hotel. The hotel is in a charming neighbourhood on the Magnificent Mile". We walked to shops and restaurants and learned how to navigate the train system quite well from this great location. Uber and taxis were between 6- 11 dollars to go most places that a tourist would want to see. The hop on hop off bus departs from the Hancock Building which is only a few blocks away. If you are coming from the airport and want to eliminate a costly Uber or taxi ride, from the airport, take the Blue Line to 'Jackson' then transfer to the Red Line and get off at 'Chicago'. The hotel is only 3 blocks away. It's very easy. The staff was amazing and our room was very comfortable. Tim at the concierge desk was very helpful in organizing our dinner and other various reservations. All the concierge staff is knowledgeable and on deck all day and evening. The restaurant food is superb - breakfast is particularly good. All the staff were wonderful and we felt like family after our 5 night stay. We would highly recommend this beautiful hotel for your Chicago stay. In our book we would rate it 5 stars!

Room Tip: We booked this hotel on Hotwire when we asked for a 4 star property. We were thrilled!

Dear Kerren F, Thanks for taking the time to write this fabulous review. We're happy your experience with us was amazing. Our location is one of the best in the city. This Gold Coast neighborhood is close to shopping, restaurants, and many of the city's major attractions, and museums. The train that comes from O'Hare and Midway airports are just blocks away from the hotel. Thanks for taking the time to acknowledge our Concierge Team, and our entire staff. Talbott Hotel wonderfully located in Chicago's Gold Coast. Surrounded by restaurants. Centrally located for shopping on the Mag Mile. Hotel service excellent, 'specially Dwayne our Valet/Bell Hop. Any thing we requested Dwayne promptly took care of it. Never got to eat in their outdoor/indoor restaurant, did have drinks at the bar...which is very well stocked also great wine list. Room was plenty big with large flat screen TV chairs for sitting. Bed [Queen] very comfortable. Ample outlets for charging iPhone/laptop. Bathroom updated w/bathtub/shower/hairdryer/bathrobe. Room very quiet absolutely could not hear any noise from the street below or fr within the hotel itself. Certainly wld recommend The Talbott Hotel.

Our newly renovated rooms and lobby is a hugh plus for our property. The rooms are equipped with large flat screen TVs, and ample outlets for charging devices. Our location is amazing, surrounded by the shops on Michigan Avenue, and most of the popular restaurants in the area. We certainly hope you visit us again!

We just returned from a 4 night stay and we can't say enough good things about this Hotel. The Staff goes out of their way to take care of their guests! We stayed at the Talbott before the renovation and prefer the new boutique feeling. The new restaurant was a great place for breakfast and cocktails...much better than the old restaurant. You can't beat the location either.

The Bellstaff were prompt and very pleasing to work with. We arrived before our room was ready & they they took good care of our luggage.
The room was nice and spacious as we had a junior suite I believe.The bed was comfortable and the bathrooms was very big with a huge wonderful walk in shower. A good size walk in closet held all our clothes & suitcases as well as the rooms safe. There is a refrigerator/bar but it is packed full of items they are trying to sell. They should offer an empty refrigerator besides their stocked bar.

What was lacking was any kind of information book or packet in the room. The Emergency information is on the back of the door, as usual, but there was nothing telling us about Television stations, where to get ice, room service or anything else. The only thing we received was their door hanger for the breakfast deliveries. When we called down to ask for a room service menu, we were told quite sharply that we should have one in our room. When we finally (the second day) requested a menu, the man who delivered it was very short with us, almost accusing us of lying about having one. Not a good experience there. The same goes for the breakfast delivery, where you hang the flyer on your door, but we handed it to the man who brought the room service menu . Thirty minutes AFTER our meal was to be delivered, we called asking where our breakfast was. They had forgotten us. When they did finally deliver the food, it was barely warm & the bacon was barely cooked and inedible. They did comp the meal, but there had been too many things happen in the first 2 days of our stay.

We tried out the bar one night for drinks and appetizers. Their menu is lacking when it came to choices. We ordered the cheese tray. It was lovely, but we would have liked more choices.

With all the choices Chicago has to offer, I am not sure if we would stay here again. We were offered a special so we felt price wise it was okay for what we paid. I would have been very upset if we had paid full price for some of the things we went through.
