Stayed for 5 nights in a river view room. On a lower floor and declined upgrade to a higher floor @ $15 per night.
Room - had a very comfortable king bed and was reasonably spacious. Nice toiletries and good towels. Good shower with lots of room. Complimentary water and tea/coffee facilities. Inroom safe for valuables. Overall a wee bit dated but fine.
Staff - housekeeping good, doorman very friendly and helpful but male concierge showed total lack of interest and enthusiasm.
Location - main selling point. Central for most attractions and yards from the riverfront. Lots of good restaurants closeby. If you don't like hotel breakfasts check out Yolk which is closeby.
We travelled from O'Hare. Recommend using the Blue Line to Clark/Lake @ $5. Has elevators/lifts if you have suitcases. Then about a 7 minute walk. Don't use Washington - lots of stairs.
As most have said the wait at peak times for a lift can be a bit of a pain. Also we checked out the1st day of the staff strike so to get wakened at 5am by protestors was less than pleasant. Reception wouldn't tell us the reason for the strike so not sure what to say.
So overall a pleasant stay at a hotel in a great location.More
