Description: For 58 years, the original Gino’s East has been offering the best deep dish pizza experience in Chicago. Since we opened our doors in 1966, we’ve shared millions of our signature golden-crust Chicago-style pizzas with Chicagoans, celebrities, and visitors from all over the world. Don’t believe us? The writing is on the walls! We’re world-famous for our tradition of letting all of our customers leave their mark on our restaurant. Come by and leave some graffiti, if you can find a spot, and see if you can find it next year! Gino’s Chicago-style deep dish is made the same way it was 58 years ago. We start with our signature, secret-recipe dough and top it with mounds of mozzarella cheese, fresh toppings, and our tangy tomato sauce. Our pies are slowly baked in seasoned cast iron pans until the crust is golden and flaky, then we serve it table-side, piping hot, right out of the pan.

I know this review will not be popular. We did not love this Pizza. We liked it. It was certainly better than most places at home. My husband said its a 4 out of 5. I remember it as a 3 out of 5. It took about an hour and 15-30 minutes to get pizza.

Just the best damn deep dish pizza in the city of the Chicago. I would have stopped there but, tripadvisor insisted I write more. The original location is a hole in the wall but, that makes it even better in my book!!!

Wife and I came for a weekend to see the sights. Stayed next door, forget the name of the hotel. We were there in January, so there was no issue with a line up on Saturday afternoon at 4:45. :) There was a line when we left, but it wasn't too cold out.

We had a very friendly server. It was a bit rushed, the place got busy very quickly. We ordered our very 1st authentic Chicago deep dish pizza. It was absolutely wonderful. I usually prefer a thin crust pizza, but you can't come here and order a thin crust at Gino's. Well, you probably can but we thought we had to have the real deal.

Went to Gino's East at about 3pm after a morning at Lincoln Park Zoo (Wonderful place). There was a line out the door and about 20 people long. It took about 30 mins to reach the front door, and once you're inside, you are seated within minutes..so the wait was not bad at all. You dont go inside to put your name in, just wait in line and move along. I was told, as the day went on, the line would get longer.
Once inside, make sure you go to the second floor, where the walls are more decorated. Although we did not ink, we did see a large "GO WINGS" written on a wall, which made my day!
Pizza is tasty, value priced ($22 for a 6 piece cheese/pepperoni deep dish), side tossed salad ($6 enough for me and my mom to split) and beverages. This kept us full for the rest of the day!
When we left (4-430pm) the line was not any longer than when we came.
