We made reservations here on the advice of a friend. I was reluctant because of the price. But the flavors were out of this world. The Mushroom Soup was incredible. The tenderloin beef was so tender and delicious, my friend swears you don't even need teeth to chew it! Don was our server with great recommendations. A meal to remember for a long time to come.

A delightful French restaurant featuring haute cuisine with modern twists. Fresh ingredients and excellent vegetable pairings. Wagyu short ribs and soufflé selection are MUST orders. Service is personable and unobtrusive. They punch way above their weight class. Pricey, but far less pretentious than many of its Chicago competitors. It’s all about the diner here, with one of the owners in the front of the house to welcome you as if you’re a guest in her home. Highly recommend.

Loved Les Nomades ( pronounced Lee Nomaade, meaning The Nomads ) in every aspect. The service was impeccable, The server was very attentive, yet not intrusive and asked us if we wanted to change the seat as we had noisy neighbors but we were fine. He helped us chose the various options from the set menu and his recommendations were perfect. The slow roasted veal and lamb duo were amazing as were the duck while the souffles are among the best. They have a good collection of Chablis and other French Wine. Would love to go here again!!!

On our last day during a recent visit to Chicago, we ended up choosing the best for last. A quaint restaurant in an old brownstone, conveniently located by our hotel, we were warmly greeted by the owner and promptly seated at our table.

An extensive wine ‘book’ accompanied our menus and our server explained the suggested style of ordering, which were 4-5 courses as well as the specials for the evening. We eventually ordered a half bottle of a fantastic Italian Barolo. They also offer a wine pairing option, which might not be such a bad idea too.

After enjoying our glasses of champagne, we indulged in our amuse-bouche, a squash blossom soup. This was then followed by the appetizer special of the lobster mousse stuffed zucchini blossoms with an amazing broth and a selection of 4 pates accompanied by toasted brioche bread, mustard sauce, garlic sauce and micro greens with cornichons. We traded tastes as both dishes were so different from each other with varied textures and extremely flavorful.

The 2nd courses consisted of a warm lobster and shrimp salad and Salade Lyonnaise. The first including a beet chip with a mango dressing while the 2nd included frisée, crispy Iberco ham, haricots verts withs crouton and a pouched egg.

The 3rd course, which can also included a 4th course, is the entree. A decent selected of fish and even greater selection of meat. One of us opted for the sweetbreads. The plate contained two sauces a green peppercorn sauce and a red wine garlic sauce, accompanied asparagus, roasted carrot and braised endive. The 2nd entree was the daily special that had a red wine reduction topped by fresh morel mushrooms, a medium rare filet with whipped potatoes, snow peas and micro greens. Let’s just say none of these required a doggie bag.

The dessert selections are varied, but not overwhelming, making the choices not too difficult. Various soufflés are featured and the lemon version won out. The chocolate praline tart was the other choice. It included roasted hazelnuts, caramel pear sauce and chocolate sorbet. These were both superb and also a dish of a macaroon, madeleine, a white peach gelee and a filled chocolate containing Grand Marnier.

The wait staff was outstanding and made to smile to keep one of our party pleased as they did ‘loosen’ up and seem to really enjoy themselves without breaking too far from the upscale required protocol and we did thank the owner on the way out for permitting them to put up with us.
