Enjoyed the food and communal atmosphere at the Purple Pig. The popularity of the restaurant resulted in a 45 minute wait around 5 on a Saturday afternoon. Once seated with a party of 6 we ordered a combination of half bottles of red wine from an extensive wine list, cheeses, and small plates. We particularly enjoyed the following dishes: Braised Baby Artichokes, Fava Beans, Cheese plate, meatball slider (my 11 year old nephew went back for 2nds), And milk braised pork shoulder.
Although the food was delicious the service was spotty. When we initially sat down the waitress seemed very disinterested in taking our orders but warmed up once we asked her opinion on both the wine and cheese selection. Except for a turkey leg that came out 25 minutes after everything else we ordered the food came out from the kitchen quickly. Think they have an opportunity to pay more attention to clients which will help them not only improve customer experience but turn over the tables quicker and reduce the upfront wait.
