Had breakfast here after our stay and before catching our train. Coffee was passable (as just about anywhere we went in the US) but everything else was very good.

we were at Ohio House Motel so the first morning we decided to have breakfast in this restaurant... what a pity !! it's a typical diner of 50s and a I think that nobody cleaned it since the 50s.... the place was dreary and food was really horrible, greasy and insipid ! bacon was hard, eggs were not scrambled but like an omelette... Avoid this place !

nothing fancy, just standard diner food, really, really good and the prices are reasonable. This is clearly where locals eat. Not too far from the Mag Mile. and fresh squeezed orange juice, yum.

We love eating at the Ohio House Coffee Shop. Reasonable prices with great service. It's nothing fancy, but we enjoy the atmosphere.

The food was at least a solid 3.5, but the price kicked this well into 4 star category. This is a basic no-frills coffee-shop/grill, with more counter seating than booths. You don’t come here for Eggs Benedict or Crepes…you come here for Biscuits & Gravy, Corned Beef Hash, Pancakes or an Omelet…all with a side of perfectly cooked greasy Hash Browns. It’s good to know there are still places like this in the heart of Chicago. Note: it’s a cash only spot, but considering a huge breakfast and a hot drink will run you about $10, that shouldn’t be an issue. Enjoy!!
