“Great weekend getaway for families...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 October 2010

My family and I have made the trip fro Park City, Utah to Lava Hot Springs for the past two years. We travel with up to three other families and we all have children under 7-years old. WE love this town for a quick weekend escape. Great family activities, rafting down the river, hot springs, a huge community pool (Sunday is the best day to enjoy with less crowds than Saturday), restaurants and shops. We have stayed several places, but with love the KOA just outside of town! We love the cabins and share them – my wife only likes “Glamping” (Glamour + Camping). Very clean, AC, enough space. The owners and their staff are also awesome and go out of their way to make guest feel welcome including hosting children’s activities and games, i.e. watermelon seed spitting contest. Lava Hot Springs has enough charm, accommodations, amenities and activities to please my family year after year for a weekend getaway.

“Get wet in Eastern Idaho!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 September 2010

Lava Hot Springs is all about the water, whether it is floating the Portneuf River, serious soaking in one of the hot spring pools, or diving or sliding at the indoor/outdoor aquatics complex. Rent 1-4 person tube/floats from one of umpteen shops, put in at the top of the town and float down through it all. Just enough rapids to get everyone a little wet, but gentle enough that parents were floating with really small children (with appropriate PFDs, of course). Really low key quaint, fun little town. At the hot spring itself, there are 5 pools, ranging up from pleasantly warm to lobster boil temp right where the spring comes up. Open all year round. We had a blast and will be heading back soon.

“Great place to stay . . .”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 August 2010

This is a town that is about water adventure in many forms! Our group of seven stayed overnight on our way from Boise to the Grand Tetons/Yellowstone and we had a great time experiencing the hot springs, water park, and tubing the river. (Tube rental and transport being big business here.) It’s a perfect place for families and kids of all ages, along with adults who just want to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the springs. And try out the KOA Kampground! As someone who had never stayed at a KOA, I was thoroughly impressed. Accommodations range from camp/RV sites to very comfortable cabins of all sizes, and it totally beats staying in a hotel. The location is great, a short walk from tubing and right across from the hot springs. And to add, they have brand new private showers and bathrooms and an outdoor kitchen pavilion, which are all over the top. You just have to check this place out! Finally, I have to mention that Cory, the KOA owner, was GREAT and took time to save us from a minor tragedy . . . keys locked in the car! I hope you're able to experience Lava Hot Springs and stay at the KOA!

“Lava Condos - Lava Hot Springs Village”

If you are a member of RCI and you are even thinking of trading for this property.. Take your hands off the keyboard. The outside is neat and clean and the inside is clean. But it has not been updated since itn was built and I think it is a residential complex. There are more rules than you can read. We stayed one night and left. Do yourself a favor don't go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
