pros: friendly staff, comfortable bed, convenient with all basic amenities and BEST LOCATION EVER. do yourself a favour and stay in Lido and travel to the tourist attractions during the day. it's so much quieter and nicer in Lido with access to beach and not to mention..every time you go to the tourist areas..it's a nice boat ride for you.

cons: super awkward washroom architecture - which of course they can't change now but at least they can provide a big enough curtain to avoid water splattering all over..getting the paper towel wet, the floors and everything, washroom was super tiny and uncomfortable. and the floors were not good..they weren't carpet, you feel like you're walking on some plastic matt sort of thing (so bring a pair of slippers for when you're in the hotel.

Room Tip: room with sea view and the balcony is best

There isn't anything terrible about this hotel, but they don't seem to try to make it anything beyond average. It's as if the expect no return business and therefore don't see the need to try to hard. Every request was met with shrugs and protests. The breakfast is put out just so they can say there is breakfast. Nothing to choose from and what there is isn't great. The Lido itself is a beautiful location so it's a shame they don't try a bit harder. I'd come back to the Lido, but not to his hotel.

We left the Petit Palais with mixed feelings. The staff was amazing, helpful and always friendly. They really rock! But the hotel itself is small and not in its best shape. Spots on the walls (from guests killing mosquitos we assume) scratched corners, broken plaster and watermarks on the carpets. As the hotel is very small, there is not enough staff if it gets busy. One person was responsible for breakfast and one person at the reception. So when many people eat at the same time or want to check out there were bottle necks.
Not too many good restaurants around. So we would book another hotel next time.
On the plus side, the view was amazing, Breakfast good and staff super friendly.

Room Tip: book the corner rooms with seas side. They have an amazing view AND a balcony. . Book directly via the hotel and save 10%

Do not look at the web site photos as this nothing like them. On arriving after a very early start from England we were shown to our room. We were given a room at the front of the hotel ground floor very small. This room had nowhere to sit you could not walk around the bed without bumping your toes which my husband did all the time.We could not open the windows as it was at ground level and on to the road. We immediately asked for another room but was told no as the hotel was full and we had booked an economy room to be fair we really did not realise this as we had booked on Expedia and assumed we were getting a nice room Where are these lovely rooms I don't know ? There is no outside space to sit which would be nice after a trip to go back to the hotel and sit outside all there is is a huge bike area where locals come park their bikes and go the beach, The location on the beach is excellent as after a day site seeing Venice it is nice to be able to have a dip in the sea. Be warned tho if you want a bed its 25 euros a day or 15 for a half, The hotel will provide towels but you have to pay for them unless you book the hotel on their website. The breakfast was just like any continental breakfast the hot food was cold but when we asked for some hot they obliged which was good.we were so disappointed in this hotel as we had read some fantastic reviews. I think because we were so cramped up in this tiny airless room it spoilt our view of the hotel when tried to talk to the man who showed us the room all he said well you have air conditioning not much good when you have asthma like I do.We managed as went to Venice every day on the boat truly magical and so good when you go by boat as you see it from different angles top tip buy 3 day passes from the local shop on the main street 40 euros per person and it covers you for bus rides into the port and the boat trips very good value . Nowhere to eat around the hotel but 10-minute ride into the port area and its buzzing with lots of restaurants and bars very good try the local drink spritzer it's like a cocktail better and cheaper than a Bellini so good we had a wonderful trip to Venice and enjoyed staying on the Lido I don't want to be too negative about the hotel but be warned it's not a 4 star hotel as advertised unless ratings for hotels are different than the U.K and ask about your room before you book as this, not a cheap hotel it's better to know before hand as this was a special birthday trip for us so disappointed this hotel

Room Tip: Find out where your room is

We stayed here for 4 nights in late June, and it was a good choice! Ideally situated both for exploring Venice and also for relaxing on a pristine beach.
Room was spacious and bathroom was modern and will equipped.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
It was very easy to get the vaporetti Into Venice, and lovely to come back to the peace and quiet of the Lido when we had our fill of culture and shopping!
We would return to this hotel .
