I stayed for one night after a business event. Japan House was conveniently located near both the downtown and the Interstate, and was a good value. I decided to stay based on TripAdvisor Reviews. My room (#101) was unusually spacious. It was a Handicapped Access room; I can't say if others are equally roomy
I found it to be immaculately clean with minimalist style All furnishings were in excellent condition, appearing to be new or nearly so. Nice tile floors in the bathroom may have been from a recent renovation. Carpet was new. TV was of the older CRT style but had a good sized screen, many cable channels and good, fairly large, picture. The bed was very comfortable. There was no phone in the room. Parking was right outside the door.
Both proprietors were friendly and helpful in providing directions to good hiking in the area and to nearby retailers.
Traveling solo or with family and looking for an unpretentious place to stay in Coeur d'Alene?. If your priorities include cleanliness, comfort and economy, I'd recommend the Japan House without hesitation.More
