Nice campground, friendly people. Bring bug spray - tons of bugs. *Warning* Most of the restaurants ONLY serve “resort guests” in the evenings, so eating out is not an option :(. Wish we had known that before planning to vacation here! Xxxxx

On a six week rv trip of the south east. Jekyll island is beautiful and natural. Mossy trees etc so much wildlife. So you cannot go wrong with the visit. It is lovely.

The campground itself was not great. The spaces are tight sometimes difficult to navigate between trees. This I usually don’t mind but it is a campground for rv’s so you have to be able to navigate.

The site itself is a bed of dead soft moist leaves and dirt. This is wha I believe contributes to the bug issues. I get it it’s summer on the coast BUT the mosquitoes are enough to make me not want to comeback. With deep woods off on, was counting and had 8 bites just during set up.

So while I wholeheartedly recommend visiting the island or staying at a vrbo or hotel. They need to upgrade the campsite if they cleaned up the sites, forget concrete pads even gravel or road base would be a HUGE improvement. If you come here bring your DEET and Citronella ! Happy travels!

Room tip: Bring DEET and a screened in room mosquitoes will drive you crazy

Stayed Sat-Friday. Had a wonderful stay. Campground is a little cramped in certain spots especially the access road thru the campground. Two trucks have a hard time passing without one pulling over. Campground is wonderfully maintained and it shows. They even clean out the fire pit when campers leave and even rake around the pit. Store employees were friendly and helpful and the couple that helped us check in was fantastic. They recommended some local restaurants for us. We enjoyed talking with them. Lots of things to see and do on the island. No box stores on the island but some fantastic local shops. No grocery stores but a small general store. Has several different beaches and visited all. Also lots of history and miles and miles of bike paths. Pier is located about half mile across from campground entrance. Do keep in mind if you go off the island you will have to pay a toll “Parking Pass” of $8/ standard and $12/ larger vehicles. Pass is good for 24 hours. Don’t waste time purchasing online because the Jekyll Island Permit website is horrible. Campground is a 10.

This is the most serene campground we've stayed at. The sound of birds chirping is the overriding sound here. The sites are a good size and all have tables and firepits. The campground is in a great location and provided everything we were looking for a few peaceful days of camping. Be sure to bring your bicycle as there are bike paths all over the island. Be sure you have all your snacks as the store has lots of good stuff, but only ice cream!

We spent three nights tent camping on Jekyll Island and so enjoyed it. Our site was spacious, clean, and set among beautiful trees. It was only a short walk to the bathhouse which was well lit and well maintained. The camp hosts and store staff were friendly and helpful to these novice campers. We will definitely be back in the fall.
