If you are looking for somewhere off the beaten track. Relaxed unusual environment? Helen is thes place. Nestled in the Georgia mountains, this quaint Georgia German town has everything for all ages. Fishing, zip lining, tubing, hiking trails German restaurants and lots more. We had such a beautiful weekend and the weather was perfect.

We had a great spring break trip. We weren’t able to reserve an exact camping spot online ahead of time so we got the last one left. The trading post and playground is a short walk from the sites. The laundry machine was out of order in the comfort station nearest us but there was a laundry building next to the trading post we could have used if necessary. The trails were great. Nearby Anna Ruby Falls was amazing. Our oldest enjoyed the zip lining. Disappointed in the tennis courts which seem to be a gardening experiment these days filled with raised beds. The Lodge and restaurant were very nice.

The State park is well kept. It's quiet, peaceful and provides for a natural reset. The beach area has kayaks and boats for rent. Ziplines are an added attraction.

We’ve been a few times now and still love it. Tried some new trails today and they don’t fail. You can tell the place got hurt by the hurricane winds of 2017 but they’ve done a good job of clearing the trails.

The drive to get to Unicoi State Park was wonderful and full of nature at its best. The park itself was staffed with very pleasant people who were eager to assist us in any way possible and full of helpful information. This is a great place to visit for people of all ages.
