“Enjoyable tubing. ”

Helen Tubing and Water Park
Reviewed 3 September 2017 via mobile

Decided to float down the chattahooche river using this company. Tubes were in great shape and staff was friendly. The changing room and restrooms were disgusting though. I would return to float down the river again using this company. I do suggest buying one of the sticks they have to purchase for your float because you will get stuck and have to push off! Enjoyable trip.

This is one of two tubing companies. On the outside, they seem to be the same, but there are several differences. Helen Tubing (Pink) is cheaper than Cool Water Tubing (blue) ($5 vs. $9). You can purchase a "push-off" stick for $5 from Helen Tubing. You can rent the push-off stick for $5 from Cool Water Tubing. Believe me, you want the stick, a 1x2 inch stick about three feet long that you will use to push off of rocks as you float downstream. You will also want water shoes, something with traction for stepping on the slippery river bed rocks. They sell them at the tubing places for $10. Other difference is Helen Tubing's ride is a lot longer, which means you're going to encounter a lot more of those rocks you need to push off. Cool Water's ride is not as long as you put in PAST a lot of those annoying rocks. And, yes,the other reviews are right. It's not a leisurely float down the river. You will work to push off of rocks and, unless you are incredibly nimble, you will probably slip in the river more than once. So, expect a few sore muscles and bruises during the two-hour "float." But, it is fun!

A lovely expanse of river with both lazy river moments, some brief rapids, many large stones that impede your journey and TOOO many people crowding for space. Young children and seniors beware! There are areas that require you to get out of your tube, stand on large slippery rocks as you try to get your tube moving. People will bump into you, attempt to be helpful.and occasionally make the situation worse!

The family had a great time at the water park and tubing. There are 4 larger slides and a lazy river. I highly recommend water shoes and getting the push stick for the tubing. Rocks are slippery and if the water is low, you'll need the stick-trust me on this.

Overall I felt like the value was good at $20 per person and the operation was smoothly run. It was a nice "laid back" water park and tubing experience for the day. Enjoy!

I took the time to read many reviews....some good and some bad before heading out in the rain with my daughter to enjoy this adventure on August 12th. While reading reviews, I realized the negative reviews must come from those who don't live in my great state. Georgia is very hot and humid during the summer months. Lucky for us, it was raining when we decided to go tubing. My daughter described the rain as a "stinging rain". The drops were so large and came down so hard, that it hurt. The fun we had bonding and working as a team down for the two hour experience will bring a lifetime of wonderful memories. A must if you enjoy the water.
