Stayed at the Open Gates B and B for two nights in August. Had not originally intended to stay for two nights, but the first was so great that we decided to stay an extra night! Was an incredible experience! Room was outstanding and the breakfasts were without a doubt some of the best that we have ever had at a B and B. The town of Darien is a beautiful small southern town. We sure are glad that we stayed at Open Gates. Zach was a great host!

Thanks you so much! We love to hear that the breakfasts are great!! As it is half the name, I love to try and personalize the meal if I can. We are so glad that you enjoyed Darien as it’s charm is one of the many reasons we decided to take a leap at a lifelong dream. We hope to share Darien with you again soon.

One of the best if not the best B&B. Zach and Carrie have created a very warm environment. We stayed in the Garden Room, beautiful view and the most comfortable bed. Breakfast was beyond delicious. the best crepes we ever had. It was an pleasure meeting Zach and Carrie. We will return for sure!

Beautiful, very clean. Owners are accommodating. Feels like going back in time to the Deep South. Breakfast was delicious. Eggs Benedict with homemade blueberry muffins. Wasn't sure I wanted to go back home. Great stay.

What a lovely inn! Delicious breakfast, comfortable room and a gracious host! We have stayed here twice and both times it has been just the perfect stop for us on the way to Florida. Love the quiet and charm of this lowcountry inn. Thanks, Zach!

Thank you for staying twice! We look forward to the third and many after. Also thank you for pointing out we are a great in between spot for traveling. As we are just less than two miles from the interstate we are the closest city to the interstate on the Georgia coast. I promise the charm of downtown Darien and the waterfront are worth the extra 1&3/4 miles to get to us!!

We were to Savannah when we stopped in Darien for lunch which was fantastic at B&J's. Afterwards we went for a walk an ended up in their jail museum. A lovely lady at the museum was raving about this old remodeled house that was made in to a B&B that served a fantastic Breakfast. On our way back from Savannah we stopped in Darien and spent the night with Zack & Carrie at Open Gates. It exceded all expectation. The house was a beautiful old home decorated beautifully just dripping with personality. We were made to feel at home by Zack and Carrie. We also meet two other couples staying the night at the house and had a wonderful breakfast conversation which our hosts joined in on. A wonderful slow paced adventure. Thanks again Zack & Carrie.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Bluebird room and it was fantastic.

This review truly encapsulates the B&B dream that we are living. It’s all about the guests and having the opportunity to have a chance to meet people from everywhere. We’re lucky to have such a cool property that has stood the test of time. A huge thank you to the lady who referred us, as word of mouth is the best advertising we can get!! We hope you have many returns and friends you can send our way. All the best!
