Close your eyes and imagine you are in a French restaurant. You see gourmet grilled cheese with bacon on the menu. Now imagine melty, creamy gouda oozing out of toasted, buttery, brioche bread with two slices of bacon and some tomatoes topped I for good measure.
I did. Good right?
Yeah, 2 small slices of cheese melted open faced on dry toast and folded together with Luke warm bacon and slightly cool tomato is what will be served. It was so dry and uncheesy? I pulled off the crusts and 50% of the bread because it was inedible. There was nothing gooey or appetizing about this BCT (bacon, cheese, tomato).
Oh, and despite having 35 minutes to eat, the food arrived so late, I had to ask for a to go box (I took a bite in the restaurant. The tomato was not warm when the sandwich was fresh.)
The one bright note was that the waiter took orders from memory and not a pad and paper. This is always entertaining. It was less entertaining, when he suggested my sudden time crunch (BCT and a cup of soup took 20 minutes) was 100% my fault, for not giving them enough time.
3 minutes to be seated. 8 minutes to order. 18 minutes for food to arrive. 4 minutes to chugg steaing hot (and good) French onion soup and get my credit card back. 1 minute to beg the kitchen for a 2nd box for the chips. 5 minutes to run down the concourse to board.
