My son and I were in Blue Ridge and decided to give Alpine Deli a try. So glad we did! While not celiac, I am quite gluten intolerant, and always get nervous when trying new places. I decided to get a Ruben without the bread (though they do offer a gluten free bun, I don't usually care for it and prefer to go without) and the warm German potato salad. SO DELICIOUS!!! The potato salad is mustard & vinegar based and not shy on the spices. Nice and bold, it was yummy addictive. The corned beef was so tender and well seasoned, and paired with their sauerkraut and thousand island - heavenly. The cook even came out to let me know he took my allergy seriously, and even broke out a special cutting board, changed gloves, and prepared my food separate. I so appreciated him going above and beyond. My son also had the Ruben, but on the marbled rye bread. He said it was one of the best Rubens he's had. He also enjoyed the potato pancake. Our waitress (who judging by other reviews is an owner) was welcoming, knowledgeable, and kind. Service and food were excellent all around and we're looking forward to our next visit.
