“Everything you need for a perfect stay in Antigua”
Reviewed 17 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

We recently stayed in David's cottages from Dec 2014-Jan 2015 for 10 days. We rented 3 of the cottages for our family members. The cottages are all you need while staying and enjoying Antigua. They are clean and well equipped. They have a few cooking utensils and pots and pans in the kitchen along with dishes and cups and cutlery. The fridge and stove were all in working order and although the cottages are not fancy they are a great place to stay. David is kind enough to supply you with anything that might not be in the cottage but you might need while there. For example he loaned us a cooler for our beach days and also a blender to use during our stay. David is the perfect host. He greets you upon arrival, gives you a quick run down of the cottage then lets you go about your holiday. He is always around if you need him and will stop by to see how things are and for a chat with loads of information. When booking this cottage David was always quick to answer every question I had. The cottages are a great price and with such a great location we found it perfect for our starting point each day to explore the island. We did rent a vehicle and would recommend the same. There is a grocery store (actually two) not too far away as well as many restaurants, golf courses and of course great beaches. We did use a taxi service on two occasions (New Years Eve being one) and we highly recommend Ira Jonas at 268-764-2671 or 268-720-2671. He is prompt, reliable and very polite. Thanks for the recommendation David! The front cottage was very windy in the front but was told that not the norm. David even provides you with maid service 3 times a week!! amazing for no extra cost and Marlene did great job. Thanks! One of the cottages in our group was without a toaster and David had one to them within minutes. There was a problem with the fridges and again, David had that fixed within 1/2 an hour. He was always there to make it right even for the smallest problem. There is also a washer and dryer on the property for your use free of charge. Although the beach out front had too much seaweed to swim in we took advantage of several of the 365 beautiful beaches Antigua has and enjoyed our beach days very much. This island has so much to offer and we enjoyed exploring it.

“Refreshingly quiet”

These cottages are nothing "special" really but what they lack in luxurious amenities they more than make up for in peace and quiet. They do have most everything you need to make a good meal and are comfortable. From our cabin it was 20 or so paces to the ocean for your morning and afternoon dip. Sitting on the deck with a cool beverage is a great way to waste away some time while chatting with your neighbours. The deck has a nice hammock to lay in as well, very comfortable.
At night it can be warm but the trade winds blow into your cabin through the luvoured windows cooling your cabin nicely while the sound of the waves lapping up on shore drown out any noise and you drift off to sleep.
Next door to the cabins is the Tides Restaurant owned but the cottage owners father. They have a really nice pool attached to the restaurant which we were welcome to use, and we did, every day.
If you don't feel like cooking there are two restaurants within walking distance, the Tides (which I mentioned is right next door) and Cecilia's (about a three minute walk up the beach). Both were acceptional and Friday at the Tides is early hour drinks and menu specials. These two restaurant are numbers one and two on the island so you know your going to be treated to good food.
David Fuller is the owner of the cottages and extremely helpful. He keeps the grounds spotless (between naps, I got to get me a job like his). He will also direct you to places to see and shop while you are there.
The Epicureum is about a 10 to 15 minute drive from the cabin and that is where you would go to buy your groceries and bevvies. We shopped at some of the other grocery stores but the epicureum was by far the cleanest and seemed to cater more to the tourists. Parking in St Johns is at a premium so we parked at the Epicureum and walked into the city, about a 15 minute easy walk. On one of the trips we stopped at the little roadside Roti restaurant and had a curried chicken roti, Yummmm!
Other than that, we spent the mornings exploring the island and were usually back to the cabin before the real heat of the day. The cabins seem to be nicely located so that you can do some exploring easily from there nice central location. Nothing on the island is very far away.
We enjoyed our stay, we were treated kindly by David and his staff and we will probably be having friends and family booking holidays there in the near future.
