Excellent Stay

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 11 Aug 2013
We had to travel to FL at the last minute for a funeral. Called this hotel the day before leaving to book a room. They were very helpful getting us a room at a very reasonable rate. Upon arriving the lobby was very clean and decorated nicely. It didn't take very long to get checked in. We had a room on the 3rd floor. The room was spacious with a refrigerator and microwave with a sitting area and sofa bed. The bed had a pillow top and was very comfortable, unlike most hotel beds that are hard. The counter tops were all marble, as well as in the bathroom. Flat screen TV and spacious closet. The only downfall was the pool closed at dusk and because we were there for a funeral didn't get the chance to use the pool. Was easy to find right off I-95. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially Vito when we told him one night that the cleaning staff only left us 1 wash cloth and 1 hand towel. He was very apologetic and very quickly went in the back and brought us more. Would very definitely recommend this hotel to anyone I know that is planning to travel to that area. Would also very definitely stay there again when traveling there to visit family.

Hotel very clean; staff friendly. Stayed two nights. Refrigerator never worked; notified them upon arriving, next morning, and end of next day. Workout room has 3 pieces of equipment: treadmill (out of order for 3 days) despite reporting of outage, bike, and fixed stand. Hardly a workout facility. TV listing in printed directory incorrect. Wireless speed .48, so not very useful.
Ice buckets with water not emptied by cleaning staff.
Clean is important to me, but prefer truth in advertising also.

My family frequents Comfort Inns/Suite properties but found this from the moment of entering the lobby the most attractive and distinctive in that chain in which we've ever stayed. The staff--very professional, friendly, and helpful--explained when I commented on the beautiful lobby's being unlike any "standard" Comfort Inn that the hotel was only 3 years old and that the franchise owner had personally selected the furnishings. Not only the lobby but also the rooms had a iightly Chinese-Japanese style (we've traveled widely in both countries), with red and brown and black furniture and accents and understated/indirect lighting in the public areas. The beds and room furnishings (with microwave and large under-a-high-counter fridge, as others have noted, and a couch and coffee table besides the two beds and desk in our room) did indeed seem "a cut above"--and we were also glad for the availability of the guest laundry (though one load did cost $2.00). We also appreciated the breakfast, whiich, though fairly standard for Comfort Inns, was especially nicely presented in the off-lobby stylish breakfast room/lounge area. And the water pressure in the shower was exceptionally good--our teen made of point of exclaiming what a wonderful shower it was.

Our only criticism would be that the outdoor pool closed "at dusk"--which was doubtless considerate for rooms on that side (away from I-95) but left us no time after going all the way into Vero Beach for dinner to use the facility. Also we had to call the desk to be able to get something set differently to make 800- calls from our room and the business center, tho handy and with free printing, was kept dark except by explicit request for the lights to be turned on...could not be done from the area itself. I do hope the facility continues to prosper, as it seems to be doing, but little matters like that (and the printer ink's being at best a faint gray) suggest a kind of "cutting corners" that one wouldn't expect based on initial very positive impressions.

Room tip: We were initially anxious that being on the side facing the highway (and on the first floor) would mean we'd hear the traffic and our sleep be affected, but the windows and drapes and comparatively thick caret effectively shut all noise out. We had probably the best night's sleep on our two-week road trip here!

The place is really clean with comfy beds. The rooms are really big with updated furniture and flat screen TV's. Free breakfast every morning, lots of selections. The staff are very attentive, we got in late at night and were greeted like if it was noon.

We have stayed at this particular hotel several times over the past couple of years, and have always had a great experience here. Our most recent visit to Vero Beach had us at this hotel for two nights -- and as always, the best staff, the quietest room, the best breakfast each morning; simply can't ask for more here!

We just happened on this hotel and glad we did. We travel I-95 at least 4 times a year and have tried many hotels just off the interstate. This hotel is only 3 years old, clean, has an efficient staff, satisfactory breakfast, large rooms with an excellent bathroom, refrigerator and micro that are a cut above other hotels, and above average bedding. We will plan to stay here again.

Room tip: All rooms seem good. We were next to the elevator and never heard any noise.
