Went for the luncheon fried cod special of fried cod, french fries and cold slaw.... $7.00. Large cod piece, crisp fresh cold slaw and french fries that have a exterior treatment before being fried that makes them extra crispy but not overcooked. Hot food hot, cold food cold, done right. Great especially for the money. The fried onion petals and raspberry iced tea are great as well.

We had not been to A Bit Of Boston in almost 2 years. The original owners sold the business to the present owners. When we heard this we were concerned but stayed and ordered anyway. I think it was even better than before. The clam chowder had plenty of minced clams, the cream based broth was very flavorful and it was a medium thickness. Very good. We each ordered Fried Haddock, Cold Slaw and Onion Rings. The Fried Haddock was lightly fried, the way it should be, in a yellow corn flour, NOT corn meal, breading. The cold slaw was very fresh, crisp and seasoned but not soaking wet in cold slaw dressing. The Onion Rings again were lightly fried fresh onion rings in corn flour breading. Everything was excellent. We will definitely be back. When asked if the restaurant was romantic, I said, not unless you are into New England sports memorabilia decor. If you consider that romantic, then yes.

The place is a bit out of the way, small, but nicely appointed. The food specials are good and the staff, Vitale, is great. I will return to eat here again. Thursdays are all you can eat shrimp, need I say more. Check it out, I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Great fried clams, a bowl of the best lobster bisque. As good as any thing we have had in New England. A must stop when you are in town

I fail to understand how these little hole in the wall restaurants can charge such high prices. This place did offer specials until 2pm. Food was not exceptional in any way. I don't think I would go back as there are more local restaurants that rank higher in my estimation.
