ok, first off i've stayed in quite a few hotels and i've never had to ride the elevator with any of the maids or other hotel workers and all of their carts and gear. I'm not saying that i haven't had an occasional ride with a maid dropping off more towels to a room every once in a while, but literally every time we were getting on, what i guess is the only elevator in the entire hotel, the maids and all their gear and towels climbed on to the elevator with us and some other guests and shouted the floor they needed until we pushed the buttons for their floor. then on another occasion, someone with a cart got on the elevator and complained to us how he does everything in the hotel but run the front desk. i thought everyone at the front desk was very friendly, but this from the support staff seemed very inappropriate to me. also, don't be fooled by the "breakfast" that's included with the hotel stay. the hotel is obviously older but looks like it was recently renovated. but the breakfast was awful. nothing was stocked, there were loads of people everywhere. the food was inedible, the coffee was watery. it was just not very good. it is an easy distance to busch gardens and a number of places to eat, which are all perks. plus you get some discounts at busch gardens for booking with the hotel. overall, i appreciated the cleanliness of the room and the front desk was friendly, and the location is perfect for busch gardens. other than that it left some things to be desired.

Clean, comfortable rooms, great value for money, great customer service. Location was just perfect! Breakfast was good!! Close to restaurants and convenient stores. Overall stay was very good! Will definitely return..

We recently stayed for two days at the back end of our Florida trip to spend a day at Busch Gardens. We choose this hotel because we have stayed at other Hyatt Place hotels and you cannot beat the value as well as the spaciousness of the hotel rooms. Having a sofa is a wonderful option. The staff is very engaging, welcoming and attentive to your needs. It's also great to get a complimentary hot breakfast to start your day. The hotel will offer drop off and pick up to Busch Gardens at no charge. Our driver was the best we could have had for a short mile trip to and from..he was awesome! The pool area is fine but I really believe most people are here to take advantage of Busch Gardens so it was usually a very quiet spot. The hotel itself is very quiet at nighttime and no issues with noise. In addition, there is a nice spots bar/restaurant adjacent to the property that you can walk to. All in all, if you are here for a Busch Gardens vacation, this hotel would be a great choice!

The staff are not only welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly, you are welcomed back upon your return after each activity that takes you from the hotel.
You may book their shuttle service for an outing within three miles and again receive very hospitable service.
The supervisor is constantly monitoring the hotel for efficiency, safety and repairs.
I will absolutely return should my travels have me return to St. Petersburg in the future.

Plus - close to Busch Gardens, ok breakfast included

So/so - free shuttle only runs every hour so ended up paying for parking, morning breakfast time very busy sometimes unable to keep up with rush.

Negative - told by staff and mgt that they are pet friendly and that means barking dogs must be tolerated by other guests. We asked in the morning for them to speak with the owner of the dog in the room next to ours to keep the dog quite from barking or to move us prior to our next overnight. They did neither so when the do started barking after our children had gone to be we were forced to head to the front desk for assistance with this issue. Mgt attempted to talk with owner and offered to have us wake our children and move to another room (which we declined) mgt was unwilling to make guest with barking dog move to another room. Mgt kept telling us that they are pet friendly and thus we should have known that we could have a dog next door. We asked if we could request to not be next to a dog on any subsequent visits and told NO.

Be warned this is a pet friendly hotel over a kid friendly/family friendly hotel.
