Excellent barbacued ribs and pork. The guys talked about how good the potatoe salad was for days. Nice job! to Jazzy and his staff. Just keep in mind the restaurant is far from fancy but the food is fantastic

Very, very good. Travelling from Orlando to St petersburg and Sanibel, stopping off for lunch was a great idea. It's worth going on Friday, as they have mac n cheese, collard greens and corn bread only available on Fridays. We had it all; King of KIngs, mac n cheese, collard Greens, corn bread and took both, sweet potato pie and pecan pie for the road. Fast and friendly service and for me they had unsweetened iced tea, which seems to be rare in Florida. Their logo says it all, "It's all good!" WILL eat here again, someday.

On arrival at the Hampton Inn TPA we were overcome by the wonderful smell of BBQ. The girl at the front desk gave a recommendation so we walked over. The exterior is kind of run down and dated and the inside decor isn't much better. The cooking area is wide open to patrons so you can truly see your food being prepared and more importantly how clean the kitchen is. It was clean. As was the floor, seats, and dining area.

The menu is printed on a single side of paper that lay in a stack at the register where orders are taken and paid for. While I love BBQ, I'm not a fan of eating ribs from the bone. When I asked if I could get something off the bone the cook laughed, said no problem, and began stripping meat for my order. With two sides, a drink, and a homemade mini sweet potato pie the total bill was $13 +/-.

The food was delivered quickly to the table by a friendly man from the kitchen who encouraged us to play with the sauces and enjoy the meal. The second part (enjoying the meal) was not difficult at all. The sauces comes in mild or spicy. The mild has a unique taste with hints of vinegar and (maybe) mustard. The spicy was not too hot but did have a little bite to it. It was a very nice change from the run of the mill (sweet) sauces used at other BBQ places. The portion was on the large side but not huge.

The food is served on cardboard plates, the utensils are plastic, the cups styrofoam, and there is no table service beyond delivery of the meal. This is obviously a no frills kind of place that focuses more on food quality and quantity than presentation. While I certainly can't recommend Jazzy's as a place to bring a proper date, I give them a full two thumbs up if you're looking for a place to get good BBQ in Tampa.

This is the best by a mile BBQ I've ever eaten! It is a must go BBQ joint if you want the "real deal" southern BBQ. The owner, Ray Smith, former NFL player and his family do it all; run, cook and serve wonderful BBQ in a very down home, no frills but good eats kind of place. I had the BBQ chicken & ribs with sides of homemade potato salad and BBQ beans, plus sweet potato pie made by Mrs. Smith, wife of Ray Smith. Yummy. It is located on Water Street, walking distance from many Airport hotels in Tampa.
Don't be a fool and miss this Tampa beloved BBQ!
