I like this place immensely. It has character. It's well maintained and slightly different in every detail. It's in downtown Stuart and a short walk to everything Stuart has to offer.

Steve the owner is an ultra-friendly host and always asking if there is something more they can do. The delivered breakfast and newspaper is a lovely touch.

Stuart is a small town and walking in and around it is easy and while staying here, I felt like I lived here.

Looking forward to my next visit.

This charming inn was a family recommendation and it didn't disappoint! Cheery and helpful owners made us feel so comfortable and welcome. Room was lovely, quiet and had tons of charm. Well equipped to meet all our needs. A perfect place to escape in a charming little town.

Stayed at the Old Colorado Inn for a long weekend as we had to attend an sporting event in the area. Since most standard hotels were booked, I came across OCI and was glad to have found it. Communication with Stephen and its staff was perfect and we worked things out w/out any issues.
We ended up getting the Grand Suite which is part of a house that is split house in two. The Suite is half of it and it was comfortable, with a lot of character, comfy and a great place to stay. A hundred times better than a regular hotel room and for about the same price. The one drawback was having only one bathroom. We were 4 adults and 2 teens and had to "plan" its use but was not a major deterrent. The convenience of the kitchen, rooms, a dining table and a family room was great. The place was very well kept, extremely clean. The AC worked very well although many people will find it noisy. If you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs. otherwise, enjoy the breeze noises!
The kitchen could use more utensils and accessories. But many restaurants are within minutes, so I presume most people do not cook and just opt to eat out. It is nice to have the option to cook in.
Did not get to use the pool but the back patio look amazing.
This place is a great alternative, if not better, than a hotel. As for The Grand Suite, you will not be disappointed in your stay.

Fabulous boutique hotel in the middle of downtown Stuart. The hotel was built in 1914 but has many modern conveniences. Rooms were elegant and tastefully furnished. The whole experience was like going back in time . Hotel staff were warm and friendly. Walking distance to bars, restaurants, parks and the river.

Being a many generational Floridian, vacation properties often remind me of carnivals in their approach to customers but the Old Colorado Inn was completely a pleasant surprise from the moment we drove into the quaint, historical, waterfront district of Stuart, Florida. It did nothing but get better from there.
Having to go to Stuart from Northern Florida for my business, my wife booked this property for the two of us as an overnight stay and it quickly became a mini vacation as good as we have ever had. The property is very well kept and the accommodations very comfortable, but the minute we walked into the office door, Steven Vitale met us and treated us like VIP. We were sure he must have mistaken us for somebody else of much greater importance but we quickly learned that this is who he is and how he treats everyone. Rarely, in Florida, do we find anyone in the tourist industry not numbed by the mass numbers of transient, demanding customers but this family makes everyone feel like family.
The selections of types of rooms from Hotel style to bungalows to an entire historical home that they have just brought in from a different area via the waterway and barge was cool and the cleanliness, sweet treats, pool, comfort, etc have now made this a top thought of how to get back for longer stays and for bringing our grown children and their families.
Need I say more? You will find this wonderful.
