Visited as a couple during Memorial Day weekend in 2015.
Pros
- Proximity to the beach. It's especially great if you're going snorkeling at Point of Rocks.
-Private beach for those staying in the community, with the option to rent umbrellas and chairs. The beach is beautiful and away from the busier section of the key where public parking attracts more visitors.
-Staff were very friendly and helpful. We arrived early but they called us as soon as our room was ready prior to the official check-in.
-Rooms were equipped with a full kitchen with convenient appliances such as a toaster, microwave, coffee maker, etc. It also had plates, cups, mixing bowls, etc. if you're visiting with a family all these amenities are great.
-Despite having a lot of rooms in the Captiva community, it was quiet and peaceful at night.
Cons
-The bathroom could use updating. When we first arrived we noticed it wasn't as clean as other places we've stayed but we recognize it was worth overlooking considering the price and all the pros listed above.
-The AC unit was a little crazy, turning on and off every couple of minutes. However, it did keep the room very cool (critical in the FL heat).
Overall it was a great experience and we would definitely stay here again! We had such a memorable weekend.
