“Laid back, serene and convenient”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 January 2012

There are 16 units on this waterfront property. We were supposed to have a studio but were given a full unit (full kitchen/sleeps 4) for the same price. Units were clean and comfortable-this is not a fancy hotel rather down to earth apartment type units. We loved being able to make breakfast and have coffee while looking at the water-saved $ and time! No housekeeping but you can have new towels every day. There is a pool but we didn't use it. Property is quiet and sits on the water beautiful view-we saw pelicans, dolphins and fish jumping out of the water within our first 5 minutes there. Lots of space for boats. There were some families and pets are allowed. There is also a gathering room with tables, fireplace/grill if you have a large group. Owners/Registration folks are very friendly. The location is convenient to beaches, parks and drop zone (for skydiving) and 15 mins from Vero Beach if you want more restaurants or movies/shopping etc. We were here for New Years eve and watched beach fireworks in the distance from the dock.

Room Tip: Try to get close to the water.

The owners are very welcoming! We had a very comfortable and cute room. We brought our canoe and were able to launch right outside our back door and paddle to our own private island for a great day of fishing. There are all kinds of fish to catch and we saw numerous dolphins, turtles and manatees. It is a great place to enjoy nature, catch a morning sunrise and all the other guests were friendly, too. You can walk to a few restaurants - so you don't even need to drive if you don't want to. It has a great old Florida feeling and is a great place to go to de-stress.

We stayed 3 days and found our accomadations to be surprisingly nice. We took the apartment #1 and it was so comfortable. A sliding glass door overlooks the water and we saw dolphins, pelicans, and mullet diving right in front of our unit. The door opens on to a cement patio with 2 very comfortalbe chairs. We spent a lot of time sitting and watching the boats and wildlife. Very relaxing and quiet! The hosts were very hospitable and helpful. Our little dog Cooper loved it too. Lots of nice places to walk nearby. GREAT restaurants right on Indian River Dr., such as Mulligans (you could easily walk to Mulligans) and Squid Lips, good food and great views of the water. The apartment was so comfortable, a couch and chair and a good TV, a small kitchen with everything one could want, a full size bathroom and a separate bedroom decorated in blue and white, with wicker furniture. So cozy and cool and quiet. We just loved it. We plan to come back real soon. A & J from Mt. Dora

We stayed here for the final NASA shuttle launch. The 1 bedroom was superclean and quite spacious. The staff was very friendly. I loved the giant crystal clean pool. We're not really Sportamen, but we did fish a little off the dock. Next time we'd like to bring our boat. The best part was being able to bring our dog, yet not get stuck in a guest room that seemed "doggy" or inferior to the others. It was nice being able to walk to restaurants....very relaxing place with Old Florida charm.

We spent the first week of may 2011 at the Lodge and are already making plans to go back.
Owners are great.. and they sell fresh clams in the office so be sure to pick some up

There's such a great view of the river, the pics on here are nice but do not do the lodge justice.
You can bring your pets, boat, bikes, plenty of room for everything you need to feel like home.

We had more fun having drinks and fishing from the dock then anywhere else we fished.
The lodge has a great view of the river, nice pool, laundry facility, BBQ grills, Great rooms.
If your looking for a laid back place to visit thats clean, safe, relaxing, then give the Lodge a try.
There's so much to do in the surrounding areas,Fishing, boating, biking, hiking, dinning, antique stores, shops, and the people are all very friendly

MULLIGANS'S which is in walking distance is one of the best places we have ever eaten, be sure to try it if you stay here, its about 1/4 north of the lodge, 5 minute walk.
