The beach was amazing! The hotel left much to be desired. The beds were very small and very uncomfortable for 2 adults. But the worst thing of all were the mattresses. They were as HARD as ROCK. We tossed and turned all night and woke up unrested and with backaches. Because of this I would never stay here again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who values sleep as much as I do. The Sandcastle needs to invest in some decent mattresses!

We are in the process of changing out our mattresses. I am sorry to hear that you did not get a good nights rest as I know the importance of sleep. Feel free to contact me directly so I can make this right. As you know, our beach is amazing and the only thing better than the size of our beach is our caring staff. Thank you for your review and I look forward to speaking with you.

The hotel is located right on the beach. The staff at the hotel was exceptional! They went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. Our room was great and clean. Enjoyed the amenities such as beach chairs, umbrellas, water, plenty of beach towels, plenty of convenient parking. The restaurant food was good, though a little pricey, and not the best service.
A couple small problems like the wifi was not good at all. Bathrooms could use new fixtures.

Room Tip: While not all rooms have an ocean view they all have close access to the beach and 2 pools.

First time to this resort and was pleasantly surprised. The property is a former Marriott property which was built in the last 70s and, while it has been well maintained, should not be compared to a Marriott built in the last several years.

The two good-sized rooms we had were very clean, the sheets fresh, towels fluffy and absorbent, bathrooms spotless (albeit rather small) and beds surprisingly comfortable. There was a coffee pot, microwave and dorm fridge in the room. Lighting was adequate with several lamps placed strategically to provide good reading light in the sitting area or bed.

Now that you're aware this is NOT a Westin, Hilton, "W" or Hilton and you've lowered your expectations, you are ready to be truly WOWED by what you find here.

A large pool with plenty of deck chairs and chaise lounges, a restaurant with very good food and reasonable prices and a staff which is devoted to making their guests feel like they've arrived at a Florida resort of yesteryear.

Would, without a doubt, stay at the Sandcastle again as the rooms literally open up onto one of the Gulf of Mexico's best beaches. The combination of powdery white sand, beautiful sunsets and Gulf breezes combine to diminish the stressors of life. St. Armand's Circle is but blocks away from the Sandcastle and offers a plethora of shopping and dinning options.

A special shout-out goes to Victoria, front desk supervisor. She intervened when a reservation error became apparent and went the extra mile to remedy the situation quickly, efficiently and with a beautiful smile.

Room Tip: Need to specify as to room location as some open up onto the pool area or a courtyard rather than onto the Gulf.

Wow, you covered it all. We could not have said it better ourselves. Thank you for your comments and I will share your post with Victoria. She will be delighted to see her name and I am sure she will remember the circumstance that required her attention. I hope that you were able to witness that same service with a smile for your entire stay, as that is what we strive to provide.
Thank you for your comments and we look forward to serving you again in the future.

Its an older hotel, the room was not small but the bathroom was. The view was awesome, the pool was good, the pool bar was decent, food was great, mixed drinks eh not so much. I like it, not fancy at all. The bed was comfortable, the shuttle service to St Armand's Circle was great.

Having stayed at this hotel many times when the kids were small, we decided to return with our family and their partners.
Beautiful private stretch of beach. Two pools and great beach bar. Nearby St Armands Circle is well worth a visit or two with great restaurants, bars and up market shopping!
We all had a fabulous time and look forward to our next visit.

Room Tip: Hotel a bit dated but clean. Gulf front rooms are large and have great views of the gulf.
